Dino Crisis had a very simple one. If you tried to boot up the game with a mod chip installed you simply got hit with a bunch of Japanese text and the game never started up.

I experienced the Spyro anti-piracy measure. Younger me didn’t notice the game changing languages cuz i didn’t speak english back then (brazilian here) so it was whatever, nor was i bothered by the glitches since the game was still fun. And when i reached the final boss and the game restarted my reaction simply was: “That was weird. Wait, i get to play again? Heck yeah!”

Same here. I didn't really notice glitches. The slowdown only happened in my second playthrough and it was something I was used to when playing badly optimized games (except the PS1 didn't whirr loudly). Because the game instantly goes into a loading screen upon the reset triggering and saves the game, you couldn't prevent it from deleting your data. Post reset, the game would get more unstable. When it happened the first time it happened on such a random moment during the final boss that I really thought it was a glitch or something caused by a scratched up cd and didn't think it would be a anti-piracy measure. And for the longest time I played most games on my PS1 without a memory card so I was kinda used to playing games from start every time. Scratched cd's would cause games to be way more unplayable that any minor glitches the developers put in the game so I doubt anyone noticed any. Heck, even the reignited trilogy version of Spyro 3 has more glitches than a cracked version of original Spyro 3.

Another game that has very cool anti-piracy measure is Red Alert 2, if you have the pirated version, either when you play Campaign or Skirmishes, 5 seconds in when the mission/battle starts, everything you have will blew up and then mission failed or game over will pop up

My favourite was the one done by Serious Sam 3. After starting the game, an invincible enemy spawns and chases you down until it kills you
