Hey Xeems! I'm a Veteran of the Navy, Corpsman. Medic. One of my duty stations was in San Deigo aboard the vessel the USS Milius. It's hull number is 69 btw, very important information. Anyways we independently deployed around the Strait of Hormuz and defended oil rigs from people like these. They will stop at nothing to get what they want and we're the 500+ foot tin can with dozens of guided missiles and a 5" cannon that stands between them and the rigs. We had a select few people aboard in a team, myself included as the medic, called the VBSS. Visit, Board, Search and Seizure. Simple as the name implies. Though 'visit' is a little nice. But yeah! We defended locals from these creeps.

Ports in my country serve international vessels, and people who work in ships can work for international crew. Someone who was once close to me told me that her uncle used to work on Philippine and Chinese ships, and everytime he would land and spend nights at the family home he'd have nightmares and attack his brother out of the blue, having serious anger issues... one can only wonder how common this kinda shit is.

regardless of the video and what happened in this specific case, just because someone is in the water does not mean they aren't a threat to you. they can still have a gun on their person that you can't see, and yes, that gun will still be fully functional if they pull it out to use on you. don't just assume someone isn't a threat just because you can't see the immediate threat.
