Didn't notice that until you brought it up. For the screenshots I use for these videos I have a bunch of cutscenes recorded (some are recorded from my Switch, others are recorded on an emulator, that's why some screenshots are higher quality than others) and I go and look for specific frames I like in the video editor. That specific frame just happened to be the one I decided to choose for N's pain/defeat voice clips.

“Shred the Strawman” is funny, because while N nor Harry McEntire would have any roles in media relating to strawmen, in the case of Z or rather Harry Lloyd. Harry Lloyd portrayed a character known as Jeremy Baines who was possessed by Son of Mine in Doctor Who Series 3 2-parter of “Human Nature” and “Family of Blood”, where he and his family members desperately longed for eternal preservation, and the Doctor gave them that, each getting a uniquely cruel punishment that also preserves them forever; Son of Mine was suspended in time, tied to a scarecrow, a man made of straw. And eventually N caves and joins Noah, shredding the strawman suspending time itself.

it has to do with the definition of strawman that isn't used for the fallacy: a person regarded as having no substance or integrity. N doesn't view Noah as a real person but a mockery of himself, so the attack is his intention to be rid of his failure of a copy (N's perspective)

Nice! How exactly did you and doremi137 sort through the voice files? Assuming you ripped the voice files from en.pck, how did y'all sort through the 32.5k .wem files? Is there another method aside from manually going through each and every one?

I got half-way there sorting through them manually after about 2.5 weeks, then I saw doremi137 making a post on Reddit about having a spreadsheet with all the in-game story text and saw that she was about to go through the files too. So we agreed to tackle the last half together. She used some wav-to-text program to auto-sort them, while not perfect, it saved me from having to sort through most of the story related voice files and mainly focus on battle/gameplay ones. Once I'm finished with these videos, I'm planning on putting up download links for the stuff we sorted. Still some random outliers I'm not sure of.

@@MrBarnabasB oh wow kudos to you for getting so much done on your own like that. I was actually planning on reaching out to the community asking for help with manually identifying all the voice lines, but stopped once I realized how unrealistic time/manpower wise it’d be to get them all done that way 😅 happy for all the video editors and smash modders out there that’ll be able to use these files in their projects :) Maybe XCDE is next one day? It also uses the same .pck and .wem file format, (XC2 being the one outlier where it’s actually well organized lol). Would be happy to lend a hand with that if you ever decide to tackle it in the future

@@tomasadam3 But the only interesting things out of XCDE would be Kino and Nene, and clean/unfiltered versions of Metal Face and Egil voice clips right? I feel like if I do voice clips for other games in the future, I probably won't tackle another massive JRPG, but I'm still planning on doing the voice clips for the story DLC for XC3 of course. Now if Koei Tecmo ever made a Xenoblade Warriors game, I'd gladly try to tackle that.

@@MrBarnabasB yea you could definitely say it’d be somewhat redundant, since I’m sure there’s plenty of rips available from the Wii version that people have been using for years to make YTP’s lol. I just thought of bringing it up for completionists sake, as well as the fact that the voice lines might be of higher quality than the original. We totally need a Xenoblade Warriors, I would absolutely freak out with the concept of having all these characters and voice actors together in one place. Monolithsoft, Nintendo, Koei Techmo make it happen! Lol
