this is very impressive, i have never played Final Fantasy XIV, so i have no idea how hard this is to pull off, but i know that it isn't easy, also Weight of Life is my favorite piece from Xenoblade Chronicles 3, so thats just the cherry on top. keep up the good work, you deserve way more subs.

Thanks :D (And for your other comment too haha xD) Glad you enjoyed them :) Yeah this is definitely a very awesome piece of music, very epic sounding which I'm into more than usual atm lol. From what I can gather this is basically the XB3 equivalent of Counterattack from XB2 which I also really enjoy. Tried my best to convert it to XIV but there's only so much you can do haha. I'm mostly happy with it, but I might fine tune the bass drum at some point lol. If you're curious about the kind of stuff that goes into it I know Eltana has a couple of guide videos on their channel! (As for subs, I just noticed it was over 100, which is about 100 more than I ever expected haha, I'm happy people are enjoying it though)

There's quite a few bands around these days, just gotta track them down haha :) Limsa is a big one, Gridania has its fair share, otherwise player run venues in houses as well :)

Just stumbled upon this, and I genuinely LOVE the "Middle/Highschool orchestra" feel this has due to FFXIV limitations, where it's like, a good approximation of the actual song. Between being impressed by the work that went into this, and generally vibing to Weight of Life for the millionth time, I'm laughing my ass off at all the oddities. Thank you so much for this.

Ahaha, interesting way to put it, definitely not wrong though xD Glad you enjoyed it ^.^ But yeah, only so much you can do with 8 instruments, no chords, super average drums and these sound samples haha. It's fun though, and I try :) Definitely can end up with some very interesting 'covers' I guess of stuff. Been going back through some older uploads, and things like Phil Collins "In The Air TOnight" as a trio is super duper chilled/mellow without drums and everything thrown onto a Harp/Lute with Sax vocals lol.

@@lizzersdooting817 You did a great job with the limitations the game sets on you, I imagine this took a long while of figuring out which notes you CAN play were more important to giving the proper feel of the song. Good to hear you enjoy it so much, always great to have a good hobby within the hobby to have fun and unwind with, especially when you have a few friends happy to tag along and help out. I bet practice sessions leading up to "concerts" are fun little bits of chaos. Thanks for sharing your hard work with us, hope to see more :D

Haha, well for me, having no music knowledge prior to this (or still xD), it's all just been trial and error lmao. Once you've been messing around with it for a bit you slowly start to get a feel for what will PROBABLY work, but even then it's still a bit of trial and error for me still lol. Especially when you need to work around the limited amount of sounds you can have playing at once, but oh well xD Never thought something like this would become a hobby of mine, but yeah it's interesting and it's something to do during content droughts :P

Thanks for the advertising haha ;p XIV doesn't take too much specs actually, I know a bunch of people who even play it on some potato laptops/PCs haha. Unless you're trying to play with high resolution, max graphics and some kind of crazy shaders lol

Ah, well it's still in PS3-era graphics atm, at minimum anyway, but they're slowly phasing that out/upgrading as they plan to stop PS3 service soon. So if you already have a PS4/5 that's one option, otherwise you could always give the Trial version a go and hope your laptop won't atch fire xD

Oh, well the animation is just standard FF XIV instrument animation haha, so I an't take any credit for that :P The drums were in the sheet music I was referencing too, but they are definitely cool so I wanted to keep them :) I definitely had to adjust them for the game, but I think they came out pretty nice so I'm glad you liked it :D

The video itself? About 4 minutes 20 ;P The longest part for all this stuff is adjusting the sheet music/guitar tabs/whatever you can find to fit within the game limitations (and also 8 instruments lol). Then you try it out in-game, adjust some things, change some instruments, etc and repeat. Some songs take a while, some don't, depends on a lot of factors, and how perfect you want to get it xD

Oh, the mobile game? Man, I haven't played that in forever haha. Sure I can have a look, a quick check brought up a few options on MuseScore for sheet music, so I can probably do a couple. Basically all solo piano stuff, not much ensemble, so they might just end up being solo or duet/trio releases.
