We need Xenoblade Chronicles X2. I love the world they built for that game, the different areas, the music, the slightly more realistic and slightly less anime character design, flying and fighting in your skell (mech). Such a badass, fun, beautiful game that is shamefully still stuck on the Wii U. But that story and that world is my favorite of all of the Xenoblade games.

All I want from monolith soft now is a Xenoblade Chronicles X 2 or a Xenoblade Chronicles X remake/remaster, some type of re-release; I feel like that Xeno series is slowly being forgotten and it makes me really sad whenever I think about it :'( And if x will be completely forgotten I hope that they at least find a way to work in the mechs into future games cuz I loved fighting monsters with my giant robot flying around and seeing the world from a completely different perspective not to mention that the skull was basically a car that you could customize give it its own weapons and colors and it was a bit of personality sprinkled into the world from the player

I do agree that that’s one solid interpretation for what Takahashi was saying when he said “I think that everyone who played this title and the additional stories in the Expansion Pass can imagine what lies in the future for Xenoblade.”, but Imo the more solid interpretation is he was using the phrase to basically talk about how FR confirms what the future of Xenoblade will be storywise.

As a huge Xenoblade fan, I hope that Monolith takes a break from Xenoblade. I think the Takahashi team does some of their best work when not restricted by the burden of fitting into an existing series. Xenogears was incredible, the first Xenoblade is probably their best game. Xenoblade X despite having the Xenoblade name was a huge stylistic departure from Xenoblade 1 and I think benefits from not being tied into the story of 1. Obviously I hope we've not seen the end of Xenoblade, but I think work on a new IP would probably produce the best game

I think Xenoblade 2 had a better story than one (thanks to excellent antagonists), but I understand that can be very subjective. I agree with you though, I hope he starts a new series. Maybe even a fully fantasy game with a totally different aesthetic than the Xeno games.

Monolith are hands down my fav creators in gaming at the moment. I think Platnium is going the right way but is about 5 to 8 years behind Monolith in a growth perspective. Props to Capcom they have Monster Hunter on lock though.

I really love the Xenoblade Chronicles games and find it really impressive what the studio managed to do with a limited hardware. I will never forget the beautiful landscapes and titans of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I think my favourite are 2 and the DLC of 3, future redeemed. I can't wait to see what they will do on the next hardware, it's gonna be incredible.

Kinda insane XB3 pushed the Switch to its limits (so much chaos going on in fights with 6 characters instead of the usual 3 or 3+blades AND the enemies if you ever decide to aggro a group instead of a few). Pretty much on par with The Witcher 3 in terms of power pumping graphics (one is "realistic" while the other is GOOD looking anime).

@@ThePatchUniverse I think at first, CD Projekt pushed it too far for the PS4 and Xbox One, as I've heard future updates toned down the graphics a little over the months. But then the Pro and One X happened. As for the Switch, the porting studio did a terrific job to push the console to its limits without major hiccups. I think they're the same that will be porting MK1, and that ported other major releases to the Switch (like DOOM and DOOM Eternal). As for the future of the Xeno franchise, anime (like 1DE, 2 and 3) or pseudo anime (like X), or a style like Xenoblade (Wii) but high-definition (which wouldn't look bad at all and reminds me a little of Xenosaga), I'll see what they do, but one thing I've seen is that no matter what they do in terms of character visuals (some like 2, others like 3, some would have liked the same style as the original Xenoblade), the consistency of the quality of the art direction remains. I booted up X (my first Xenoblade), and was amazed at the location in the first few hours. I booted up 2, 3, and then 1, and besides 2 I haven't gone into too much, all opening zones were top notch. For 2, the tutorial is not over, as after the tutorial boss, I landed in a city, so I can't say how good it'll wow me, but I expect it will. But I hope once I'll reach 2 and 3's equivalent of Gaur Plains, I'll be amazed. Dang it was satisfying to explore.

@@nickbritto1511 Oh really?I didn't know that actually. Yes, it's quite incredible what they did with it on the Switch, I played this game for something like 35 hours and it worked pretty well. I can imagine that the Xbox One X and the PS4 pro really helped though. I must say, while I thought the game was fun, it was not my favourite, sometimes the quests went too far and I felt like I had to do all the side quests to play the game properly, which annoyed me, and using the witcher senses was not that great. Except for that I know it's a great game and it was beautiful. Yes, that's completely right about Xenoblade Chronicles, the quality of the art remains. I must say in terms of pure art style, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is my favourite, but in terms of worlds, character designs,... I prefer 2. Oh yes, X was my first Xenoblade game as well, it was really great I agree. They really do have great environments in those games. Oh yes, personally, as I've said it before, 2 was my favourite. I really loved the different worlds, the characters, the landscapes,... but that's my personnal taste, 2 is often less appreciated, but still has people who really like it. Oh yes, Gaur Plains. In my opinions there are many areas in those games that are much more beautiful than this place but it is quite incredible indeed.

My insane take will always be that Xenoblade 4 will be a definitive edition of Xenoblade X. X would be better on newer hardware and I think that it could get an extended story. It even has a significantly different soundtrack that Takahashi wants for a future installment of the Xenoblade series. Regardless of my theory, I’m sure that Xenoblade 4 will definitely release during the first year of the Switch successor, and that Xenoblade 4-6 will be more focused on tying the universes of Blade, Saga, and Gears into a single continuum.

Especially it ended on a major cliffhanger, but it was ignored for Xenoblade 2 which focused on whatever the heck it is the blades whatever it is then and xenoblade three it is shifted to a new cast of characters is essentially the plot for Xenogears it’s more of a retelling of xenogears however, for Xenoblade, 4 X2 or whatever ends up being needs to be different this time, the gameplay has to be like Final Fantasy 16 a mix between devil may cry and borderlands.

Nintendo is SO traumatized by the Wii U, they ignore it and all the games on it. No wait... Seriously, I think they are just too afraid to port this behemoth. The game is massive, they'd have to rework it to make it fit a single screen (even though the gamepad was far from being mandatory, they still have to find ways to put on a single screen the pad's use), not sure but maybe even the music might have to be licensed again (since I think it's the guy that did AoT ost that worked on Xenoblade X). They also put multiplayer in the lot, so multiplayer content would have to either be removed, or be incorporated into the single player mode. There's also the initial reception it had. It was when Xeno was still niche (it exploded with Shulm's inclusion in both Smash 4 and Ultimate, then with Xenoblade 2 mostly). So, will they work on porting a niche game that is not tied to the main games, while also working extra to fix it and remove the multiplayer? I don't think so. I own it and have yet to finish it, and frankly, I'd like them to port it or continue it (as I've heard the story cuts off abruptly), but I don't have much hope for a spin-off they did out of curiosity. I think they did X mostly to see if they could create a huge map without the game craahing by the way they treated X so far.

@@NuiYabuko Well, considering it was tight for the studio's size (and I've heard they helped for BotW and TotK), I guess they indeed couldn't do much in terms of a spin-off port. Maybe for the game's 10th anniversary they will announce something. I hope Xenoblade X DE and Xenoblade 4 or another Xeno will be shown in the near future (since it's almost been 9 years for X). From what I see, they usually have 2 years between releases (2015 was X's release and they released Xenoblade 2 relatively fast). So I'd say 2025 to 2028 would be good years for them (especially if the next big Nintendo thing is still hot, better strike the iron while it's hot).

Keep in mind Xenoblade 2 came out SEVEN years after XC1, and XC3 came out FIVE years later. It'll easily be another four years until we see the next Xeno game released I think. I dont think anything will be unveiled anytime soon, it would be too early in development.

The trilogy came full circle. An alternate time-line would kinda defeat the purpose of them going full circle. Are we really going to get another Xenoblade? Perhaps another Xeno"something", but so far, Xeno games seem to go into trilogies instead of going the FF or DQ route with lots of numbered titles. Most JRPGs don't survive past 4 or 5 (Suikoden, Wild ARMs, Breath of Fire comes to mind... FF and DQ being the most notable exceptions). So to avoid the number curse, they might change the blade part and just do another Xeno"something". Xenogear (I've heard it was supposed to be more a franchise), Xenosaga (I've heard it was supposed to be more than a trilogy but was cut short), and now Xenoblade Chronicles (that was planned as a trilogy, with X being some spin-off with unknown purposes). But hey, maybe Xenoblade WILL live long enough and have lots of titles with Xenoblade 1 through 3 being connected and 4 to whatever will be something else. What would be weird is if 4 is connected to X and they just drop the X tag if they ever complete that, as I've heard it has unfinished loose ends with the ending being a clear set up for a sequel.

@@NuiYabuko When I saw the trailers for 3 (had not played any Xenoblade back then), it triggered my MMOphobia of cluttered screens and massive raids (RF Online, Eden Eternal, World of Warcraft, Perfect World, and the likes). Like, dang, see all the amount of damage on screen with special attacks going on? Not saying it's bad or good, just my first impression. It didn't deter me from getting all 4 games though, and I plan on getting Torna physical edition as well (would have done the same for Future Redeemed, but they didn't release a physical version).

Bad at all possible area broken art graphic, bad fps and last straw is direction for objective kind meh. Always got lost. And mechanic system overwhelmed. I… I can’t even with this take. Xenoblade isn’t even open world it’s just extremely large segmented areas. And all the areas or levels have tons to do in them.

@@fl8518 Typically an open world is defined by one large seamless map where you don’t have to go through a proper loading screen to get to a new area. And yes, along with fighting enemies and opening chests you can: Solve puzzles, collect items, traverse hidden paths and areas, do sidequests, find additional cutscenes and areas, preform funeral rites for the dead, etc. Now that I’ve humoured you time to point out the flawed logic in that criticism. Most action games are basically just going around the map killing monsters and opening chests, unless you turned it into a Ubisoft game with 10 million icons the main gameplay loop for an RPG is going around the map to kill enemies and find chests. That’s what you do in Final Fantasy, in Soulsbournes, in Kingdom Hearts, in Pokémon, in SMT etc. You go around the map killing enemies and finding “chests”.
