I'm using an older version of Famitracker. There is no difference whatsoever between "Pulse" and "Square", it's just a name change that occurred as new versions of Famitracker were released.

I can see what you mean, in that the beautiful chordy chorus portion is a bit "toned down" since reducing the leading instrument to a simple waveform kind of sterilizes it (which isn't your fault at all). Otherwise it's a _perfect_ arrangement, musically speaking. Your aural abilities are formidable.

There were a few times when I had the lead play an octave lower than what's heard in the original, because a wave being played that high sounded ridiculous and awful. That might be what's causing that "toned down" sound.

I was surprised at how few parts this song typically has going on at once. Most of the space is filled with different octaves of the few notes being played. That's not very interesting to listen to in 8-bit of course. Or did you mean the tones I selected? Or my lack of effects? I wish someone else would try a Xenoblade track, so I could steal some good techniques. Clever DPCM usage can only get me so far, it seems.
