ゼノギアスでのゾハル(ゲート)の設定が「現在を含むごく近未来の事象を、可能性事象としてとらえ、ゾハルを利用する人、モノにとって最も都合の良い事象を顕在化させる。」って設定があって、そのゾハルのエネルギーである「スレイブ・ジェネレーター」を使用してゼノギアスの世界ではギア(ロボット)を動かしてたけど、その「スレイブ・ジェネレイター」をゾハルを管理していたトリニティ・プロセッサー及びセイレーンがエネルギーとして利用していたって設定があるから、レックスがいる限りヒカリとほむらが生き返ることはコアクリスタル持ち帰った時点で決められていた未来だったんだろうけど、エンディングが来るまではそんなことまで頭回ってないから本気でもう会えないのか…ってなってた。

This song will be my adult version of "Eyes on me" which was the song I loved when I was a kid when I watched my cousin play FF8. It will always leave a bitter sweet memory for me of this wonderful game. Bitter because this was a game that the late Etika poured his heart into before everything went on a downward spiral. He has been one of the things/person that made me make through one of the hardest time of my life and I am grateful for him for that. I hope he found his "Elysium" after almost 2 years of his passing. I hope that he's smiling up there seeing the girls make it through the list in Smash.

@@wangstanation6400 I understand what you mean, but when you think about the meaning behind the song and what it symbolizes it really couldn't end any other way. You have Pneuma(Pyra and Mythra) giving her life when they're not ready to die and are unsure about surviving. More than anything leaving a heavy burden on Rex. Still, there's one thing that hasn't been given closure for her. She hasn't had the chance to tell the man who loves her that she loves him. This is the last gift that her father gave her so that she could express her love.

I played the game on launch, I still think about the game to this day. Xeno is my favorite franchise, and as much as I love all the games, and I think in many ways Xenoblade 1 was better as a single driving narrative from the start...2, including it's expansion Torna, is the one that got me the most emotionally invested out of every Xeno game going back to Xenogears. It still leaves me wrecked. I've replayed it from scratch, as well as Torna twice. So yes.

ゼノブレイド2のサブタイトル、10個それぞれ秀逸で、忘れた頃に意味を理解するようになってるよね でも特に最終章の「そして少年と少女は出逢った」は特に秀逸 このタイトルが表示された時はいきなりロボットバトルが始まり、1のラストで見たシーンが流れて1との繋がりにようやく近付いた喜びで心が動かされ、怒濤の展開によってこのサブタイトルを忘れ、ひとつひとつのシーンに感動し、ムービー最後のレックスの言葉「やっと、届いたね」辺りからふとサブタイトルを思いだし、「そう言えば出逢ったって書いてたけど結局回収されなかったな」と思い始め、感動に浸りながらクレジットを眺めつつ喪失感に苛まれながら無の時間を過ごしてたらこの曲が流れ始め、過去のシーンに浸りながら感動に耽って、ホムラが炎を吹いた時の世界樹とプネウマが爆発して散っていった世界樹が重なるようにムービーが切り替わって届いたねの続きが始まって、そこで(まさか？)と思ったタイミングでホムヒカが還ってきて、サブタイトルの意味を理解する サブタイトルでネタバレしてるにも関わらず怒濤の展開でサブタイトルを忘れさせて、最後にサブタイトルを思い出させて意味を理解させる この構図が上手すぎる

God my first playthrough it hit me but on my second playthrough, I cried so hard my throat was hurting and my face was red. What hurts are how authentic the whimpering sounded, and its why i can never call the dub bad when Poppi does a fantastic job, not even just Zeke and Malos. What really caused round two of tears is Poppi running up to hug them. Monoliftsoft... That shit hurted.

Having watched Chuggaconroy play through the game and learning how this ending is actually played out and not simply what I thought it was...this song makes a lot more sense...it makes it feel so much more sad but at the same time it feels right. Pyra and Mythra had been awake all this time, suffering for the many...many years they had been alive for. They finally did what they sought to do thanks to Rex, made friends along the way that they can say safely that they cherish. Sadly they ended up having to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect the world she grew to love thanks to the people she cared about so dearly...and doing so lost her memories. "Hello, my name is Pyra/Mythra" being the words she says upon returning instead of it being "I love you Rex." like I always thought makes the song fit so much more and make me feel sorry for them...but at the same time it gives them a chance to live life anew, not having to worry about the past like they did, being allowed to look to the future. If you are wondering what I meant by this, go to 1:54 and listen carefully to the lyrics. "The final grain of sand has dropped. I will slowly so quietly fall into sleep." meaning her time has finally run out, "I see you gently fade away. Your silhouette has gone to the other side of the mist" Representing that her memories of Rex are slipping away from her...when you realize the meaning behind this song and the events unfolding it just makes you wish that they weren't connected. But as Chuggaconroy has oh so happened to enlighten me with, there was originally going to be about 4 endings. The difference between who you picked and what they say. I don't know if it would have been tied to the amount of stuff you do or how much affinity you built with them but it would have been the difference of them saying "Hello, Rex" or "Hello, I'm Pyra/Mythra". The original plan was to have two of the endings be that they remembered, the ones that have them remember his name. The ones that didn't mention his name however is them forgetting about him and introducing themselves for the first time. Upon hearing this you see Rex looking down with a bit of a somber expression. If anyone is curious about this themselves, go search up Chuggaconroy's LP of this in episode 137. In it he details a lot of spoilery things and things he forgot to mention about the game's finale. I thank you for anyone taking their time reading this comment and hope it has given you a new view on this game because I know it changed my view pretty well, I enjoyed it, had gripes with it, but all in all I thought it was a game that deserved the title it falls under...and more so now more than ever.

As much as I hate it, my head cannon is that Pyra does indeed say "Hi, I'm Pyra.", and they're normal blades who've forgotten everything. It's the one thing that they both wanted. Pyra no longer lives as a coping mechanism for Mythra, and Mythra doesn't keep the pains of 150 years. It's the most painful, but the best possible ending for them.

I don't think she says that. They talked to Poppi while Rex was watching both of them, and if they would've forgotten everything, I think Poppi would be very sad and not happy as she appears to be. Moreover, when Pyra was captured by Malhos she fought to keep her memories. As an Aegis who collects memories of other blades, I think she kept her memories.

The original song was originally written in Japanese, but they chose to have it translated to and sung in English for some reason in the actual game. I'm sure there must be Japanese covers of the song using Japanese lyrics though.

@@yuki_anesa1621 Good luck finding them. Not many Japanese fans take the time to retranslate a song from English back to Japanese and then sing it, but you know, fans are fans. Not to say that Jen Bird did a bad job (far from it), but as far as I know there have been no official releases of the official Japanese lyrics to this beautiful song. That being said, there are some badly-translated parts of the song in English, like "Just like in slow motion, it moves so slowly" and "spell me a time" which should have been "spare me some time" in better English.
