Question "what should we tell all the scientists making stuff like this to take limits on xenobots so they won't become the grey goo scenario we're all secretly terrified about"

The only way we could is by telling them not to invent the technology.

This is surely the beginning. Would take a lot of development to get to a workable “Grey goo” scenario. No need to protest, they will do it anyways. It’s a novelty research. It’s harmful when they start having ideas like “let’s release these into lakes so they clean water” like man made algae. We should not be messing with the food chain, it’s already a disaster we cant afford to add more pressure by making plastic eating organisms. Something could eat the xenobots in the wild and that could create a boom in that predator population leaving their native victims at risk of over predation.

@@lol22332 but we as people have the power the do something about having our word out and find away to talk sense into these scientists to stop them or at least regulate the use of these creations.

There’s already self imposed restrictions on top of regulatory guidelines that would prevent the type of scenario you are speculating. Even if you did manage to impose a ban this research would still exist within obscurity.

Very interesting with huge powerful potential. What stops them mutating and doing something we don’t want?

Life finds a way, imagine using these developments to extent human life or replace lost human parts defying limits of age. Combining living cells with AI is literally playing God creating live from Death and life alike.

Put about a teaspoon of cayenne pepper and a squeeze of lemon into 8 oz of pear juice and gulp it down. That should take care of it.
