I'm also kind of excited for Jagged Alliance 3! I will try to get a key for it so I can livestream it. Been spending way too much money on games this year already and there are still a couple I do want to play 😬😂

Around a decade in development, moving release dates and cutting content... Now they approve that they can't fix memory leakage (though claimed to be FIXED before). I wonder in what state this "game" really is. Gives a lot of Cyberpunk release vibes. Also, I'm not a game sales-marketing expert, but I guess that it's important at what state and when you release your game FIRST TIME (remember COD every winter holidays). When you do your half-baked EA release super close to another big strategy-nerd game (which is REALLY RARE). This is just another bad decision making from devs to me.

Several KZbinrs have gotten a pre release of the EA so you can see the state of the game there .

I have 20 hours of gameplay with June's version. It's fun. Very similar to Xenonauts 1, with many small improvements. It's like a 1.5. Sadly, most of the huge changes promised at the start of the Alpha were dropped. It's still a good game, just don't expect a revolution from X1.

I haven't played since the last public demo (earlier this year). Did they re-incorporate free aim in the latest version? Felt extremely annoying that you couldn't free-aim and suppress a tile despite knowing where the enemy is. Was a starkly different experience than X1 because of that one change.

Completely agree. It is still going to be a great game to play! I just don't expect Xenonauts 2 in 2023 (or maybe 2024 full release) to be as good as Xenonauts 1 was in 2014, in comparison though.

Man what kind of Xenonauts fan doesn't care about JA3-the Jagged Alliance series has basically been like a little brother to the entire X-COM genre for decades now Like way back in the early '90s, Jagged Alliance was the only other game in town-once you started getting desperate for an X-COM sequel because you were finally sick of playing the original every single day for months on end, Jagged Alliance became the go-to game for so many of us because it was literally the only other choice we had I guess the point I'm trying to make is that it's a good time to be a longtime fan of these types of games, because god dammit are we spoiled as hell right now

I'm glad they're releasing the game at 60% content, if they make that clear. I can wait more, if more time is needed. What I cannot do, is wasting money and time on buggy stuff. About JA3, of course I'm considering buying it.

So far they kind of have only made that clear for those who really search for this kind of information about the game. I hope it's also reflected on the game's Steam page because currently it isn't there and I can imagine a LOT of players getting angry about getting the game and then receiving an "unfinished" product.

Nope. I'm still have to be convinced that this can compete with xcom2. And with an unfinished game it does not have a chance - maybe later, but not now.

I don’t think Xenonauts 2 aims to compete with XCOM2. Also, can’t really compare the two since the only thing they kind of have in common are aliens? 😅 This is more in line with classic XCOM games than Fireaxis XCOM.
