Since it's also the opening theme of the game I believe it's more a reference to Light from the Netherworld than to Omen, though they all share the same musical motif.

Most people argue that xenosaga does not take place in the gears timeline. But i call those people ill informed or crazy.

@@neogeo5673 my view (until we get official confirmation.) Is that xenogears, saga, and xenoblade x are stories from the survivors that fled on the arks In the Xenoblade Chronicles timeline. (But the timeline for these games are pretty tricky to figure out. I really hope we get a timeline soon.)

@@bradyotter2916my believe will always be that all the Games are canon somehow. And with how Future Redeemed referenced the Eldridge, Vector and the Earth colonization project, it is my believe that Monolith themselves also see it that way. Xenoblade X, Xenosaga and Xenogears are about the people that fled earth after it disappeared while Xenoblade 1-3 talk about what happened on earth after it became Lost Jerusalem, as it’s called in Xenosaga

I mean you can hear those same motifs even in Xenoblade 2 and 3. Mitsuda has a very specific style that's immediately recognizable.

Xenosaga Episode 1 had a fascinating opening. And this opening piece of music promised a better soundtrack in the game - which surprised me when I realized the game had far less music than expected. Nevertheless, I love this flawed RPG.
