Xenosaga Story Part 7: The Miltian Conflict

I'm in the middle of watching this whole lore series and I have to say, great job on putting everything together. Also, it's amazing how there's cutscenes to show of the Miltian Conflict in all three games, which really just goes to show how complicated and inter-connected everything is.

Yes. The miltian conflict episode was one of the hardest things to put together because i had to dig through all 3 games and figure out which events go in which order

@@LoadingGears Oh that's actually interesting! Brains are funny in how they process trauma and we know this (and maybe Kevin's death on a stormy night) resulted in Shion's fear of thunderstorms. Pretty cool that the rain also helped you piece together the timeline!

I get the feeling that Joachim was originally meant to commit suicide by jumping off the building, but they changed it at the last minute to make it seem he was killed by an unseen assailant, or that the explosion threw him off the balcony.

Yup. Same. It seems they always wanted him to be unhinged by the way they presented him in XS1. but for some reason changed their minds but kept the biblical readings in XS3 for the sake of continuity.

Thank you. I've been so confused with the full story of Xenosaga. But i knew the broken weapon of Asher (Saga 3) was from Saga 2's prologue. Since it clearly cameos "Old Asher" and Chaos saying "sorry" after Jr.'s comment.

Thanks for making these lore video Series on Xenosaga! really hard to find good lore videos for these series since most lore vids you see on youtube are for Xenogears and Xenoblade [which i both love!]

@@LoadingGears Oh you played the Definitive Edition of Xenoblade 1? such a good game! and yeah Xenoblade 2 is a really great game! it starts off kinda slow but once the story picks up it's just nonstop epicness, recommend you check Enel's channel he makes a lot of really great xenoblade 1 & 2 videos on the gameplay side of things.

I don't understand how Shion crying and being sad makes the Zohar summon the Gnosis into the Lower Plane from the Metaphysical plane lol I guess if you have a strong spiritual connection to the wave existence you can just summon salt monsters from purgatory when you're sad

from what i understand, yes, she has latent powers because of her connection to U-DO and her fragile mental state in that moment made her subconsciously unlock those powers to call the gnosis. pretty much, if shion ever unlocked her h hidden potential she would be OP lol

I've always question about one part of this story tho. Song of Nephilim was launched by sellers during the 3rd descent operation. And it's said that they also boarded it to leave Miltia(presumably) since database in episode 3 mentioned Albedo was found fainted by sellers near the song of Nephilim. Why didn't they move the Proto Omega with the Zohar along with it? If Proto Merkabah(100x bigger than the proto omega) and the song of Nephilim could be moved. Why didn't they move proto Omega along? They even moved ES Levi that is alrd ready to be piloted then and the rest of vessel of anima lol

I imagine it has something to do with proto merkabah being able to lift off on it's own. But I do find it a bit weird that they didnt have a contingency plan to secure something as precious as the zohar and proto omega. But maybe it was on purpose as U-DO would awaken if they moved the Zohar.

Is Shion really summoned the Gnosis? As I remember, she does this only in Xenosaga III in her own subconscious domain. Even characters like Rubedo are saying that this is not what happened on Miltia originally..or I just missed something, I don’t know

No. When they say "that didnt happen before" they mean abels ark appearing. Older shion was the one who summomed abels ark in XS3 but young shion did summon the gnosis in the original timeline

Lol. I've been struggoing to find a good place to explain them. I didnt want to do it in the first video, where I talk about U-DO, because then it would be forever (the 2nd game) until I ever talk about them again. But going into a full explanation I to what they are during Abel's 0.5 second cameo in xenosaga 1 seems odd too. Dont worry, I will talk about abel and abels ark. Just not sure when yet lol

Indeed. The anime did a clever thing where they showed jins ice abilities coming from a combo move he did with chaos. I thought it was clever bc chaos has ice moves in the game.

XD ppl gave mgs so much shit for that but I loved how much the characters talked. Speaking of, I made a series like this on mgs too. Fair warning, its rougher then this series bc it was my first project. The quality becomes Around the same as the xeno videos by the time I get to mgsV
