Eh it's basicly the same theme save for the heavier Guitar, this version plays during such times as choosing a stage or while your teammates are choosing their characters. The normal version during character select lacks the guitar.

Soooooooo... you can actually save different custom characters? I mean, you can have both saved a Majin male and a Saiyan female, for example? Or you create ONE character and it can just have different costumes?

You can have up to 8 different characters of any race. Each custom character gets 7 preset slots which you can save outfits and abilities you've equipped. For example, your first slot could be Goku's outfit with a Kamehameha and your second slot could be Tien's outfit with Galick Gun. Of course the customization is much more detailed than I explained though.
