Building PCs is like adult Legos. It's fun and it really is easy. The only hard part is researching which parts you want and what's within your budget (and like you mentioned pcpartpicker makes that way easier than it used to be). Of course it gets more difficult with liquid cooling, overclocking and certain aesthetic mods but even those aren't that difficult and you don't need them anyway
