XEROS CYPRUS MINES CORPORATION (CMC)

Historical pictures depicting the Cyprus Mines Corporation (CMC). The pictures include employees working in the firm during 1950's upto 1974 in Xeros and the surrounding villages in the region of Morphou, Cyprus. The CMC was established in 1916 by Colonel Seeley W. Mudd.

This was great. I was born in Pendayia Hospital in October 1954. My dad , George Wilson was the Machine Shop foreman. My parents (and I) left in the mid 1960s. My parents joined CMC in 1949ish. I remember the CMC club in Skouriotissa where I was taught to swim by Paul the lifeguard. We lived in the CMC houses in Xeros originally but moved to the CNC houses in Karovastassi. I’m trying to track down CMC records but it’s hard to track them down.
