For power injection, do you need to run both a positive and negative wire from the power supply to the injection point? Or can you just run a positive line? If you have a negative running through the controller and through all the lights inline in that way wouldn't a negative line for each power injection be redundant and unnecessary?

You need to run both to close the circuit.

Depends if they are "Regulated" or "Resistor" LEDs and how far apart each "string" is. The data leaving a pixel is only designed to go a few inches, so if you split your string into 2x 250s, YES, amp. A common rule is "1 Null Pixel/F-AMP per prop." You may find that LONG strings tend to have flickering or discoloration at the end even through you power injected every single LED. That's data degradation. Put some Null Pixels/F-AMPs in there.

The pixels I'm using have a positive and a negative pigtail in addition to the +, -, D . If I need to inject can I just tie in to those pigtails as I assume that is what they are for?

Yes, that's exactly what they are for. It's so that you don't have to splice the other cable.

Can you inject power with a different voltage in using a 12v ps for the main power and use a 5v as the secondary ps?

Your pixels are one or the other, you need to use that.

Hello, Im creating a very large pixel grid. 25' in length and 5' tall in my house. Im using a 5V Pixlite 16 Plug and Play system with 2,040 (5V pixels) all together. there are 15 strands going horizontally. Each strip has 136 pixels on it. 2 sets of 50 and 1 with 36. I need to inject power because there isnt enough power to get the second and third strand to work. If i get a power supply, can i inject power after the first 50 to power the other 86 pixels? and making sure that the red positive is disconnected after the first 50 so i dont inject power from both sources. what do you think?

As stated in the video, make sure no 5V pixel is further away than 50 pixels from a power injection source.

so that means i could take one wire and spice the wire 4 places like you did on your spider web and connect to power surply because what i did i took 4 different wires and put in power surply

You need to explaiin this equation please. 15A/(0.055*0.5) =545 pixels

I think it' s at 18:17 in to the video. 15 A fuse / ( 0.055 amps per pixel * 50% brightness) = 545

Its really not bad. Start small. See if there's someone close to you thats in the hobby. Everyone is pretty helpful.
