He claims it's from reading body language and subtle cues like lip twitches or pupil dialation. Guessing probably some extension of cold reading in it from the initial suggestability. Karls not really a stickler for detail but note they did have a chat in between and he didnt just guess right away. He played in to his hands throwing the fake smiles because it probably makes it easier. Then a magicians slight of hand at the end? How he ties all his loose ends up at the end of his acts tho.. that's legit dark arts 😂

Ireland is probably the only nation that's more associated with drinking than the Brits globally. There are Irish pubs everywhere, which is a mixed blessing in terms of our reputation. Our national holiday is associated with drinking everywhere, especially perhaps in the Americas. I said "Mandy still doesn't get how friends work in the UK" or something like that... But mine is said jokingly and not a "You're an idiot" kind of way. However every guy I've known, our friendships are always same same as Karl and Ricky's and even when we get Polish workers their humour is exactly the same, it is always insults and put downs all day. So maybe it is a male/female divide more than it is a cultural one? Also though if Karl didn't like it, he didn't have to spend ten years making content with Ricky and spending all that time outside as friends going to restaurants and stuff. Like he said in that interview "I'm almost 40 so don't worry about me", he's not a child...

There's a thin line between bullying and banter. My friends and I "banter" a lot but there have been times we've immediately apologized to each other because we realized as we said it that "That was too much". Like... It was meant as banter but it just cut too deep. At this point this is still just his job at XFM. He's not getting paid "presenter money" and he could easily just stop doing this and stop hanging out with Ricky on his spare time. Obviously they have/had a bond that goes beyond just Ricky "bullying" Karl on air. Karl has a few celebrity friends and still does. Ricky isn't and wasn't is only "gateway to fame". Not that he ever wanted that anyway. And Karl is still sort of in his "producer" role in that he will not interrupt the "talent" unless they talk to him. So whenever Ricky and Steve start talking he stops talking and lets them riff. In his professional mind they are the stars of the show and he will let them cook. At the end of the day they were friends. There is/was more to their friendship than what we know. That's the end of it as far as I'm concerned.

What I don't get about the various series is (similar to what you said), how do you have series "zero?" No show, at all, would be season "zero." Every show starts with "one," not zero, because they're on the air, rather than not. That's like saying you have zero apple, when you're holding an apple. Like, just think if they said "This is season zero of Fresh Prince." That doesn't make sense. That's what I don't get about The Ricky Gervais Show. Elephant Man is like an ongoing theme for Ricky Gervais Show. Sometimes when they come back from commercial break, and Ricky says "I'm Ricky, this is Steve, and then there's Pilkington," I expect him to say "Pilkington" like it's a candy bar, or something. Because, that's just the way his voice sounds at the moment he says it. And then how he likes to go on and on about "bald head Pilkies," and all. Yes, it's still illegal to open mail that was sent to your mailing address, but the letter was addressed to someone else. That's why, sometimes when we get mail sent to the previous person, it says "or current resident." The sender had the previous person on record as the last person there, and being currently there, but in case they're gone, whoever is there now, they'll address it to you instead, if it's the type of letter than can be addressed to the new person, like an advertisement, or something like that. THEN you get to open it. But it has to say "or current resident." Just the person's name is not allowed. Monkey news ... Ricky HAS to interrupt Karl. Just like how he HAS to shoot down everything Karl says. (The end) 30 C (86 F) ...... The way you were talking about "it's super hot," I was expecting it to be 40 - 45 C (104 - 113 F). As if you were recording during the day. Now, for 11 PM, yeah, 30 C is hot. But in general, I thought it was hotter at that moment. But then, if it was 30 C at 11 PM, I bet it was excessively hot during the day. And so, 11 PM did not cool down much, at that temp. But I wish I were at 30 C right now. This coming Monday and Tuesday, I'm going to be minus 15 Celsius (5 F), as the high. And minus 20.5 Celsius ( - 5 F) as the low. And then factoring in the wind on top of that, it will feel like minus 28.8 Celsius ( - 20 F). So right now, I'm just as cold as you are hot. Now, you're always hot in the other way: 😍..... But as for weather, you and I both wish we could switch places with each other, right now. If only I could be closer to your day time high temperature in January. But I will have to move out of Ohio, and further south, for that. And I have cities in mind: Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas. If I wind up in Dallas, I will definitely have more of your type of weather.

@@SketchyMagpie Some up and coming comedians, actors, producers etc. endured it during Ricky and Steve's golden years then bailed on him once they'd made enough money. Ricky was a ticket to the money train for quite a few people, including Steve. Steve is a talented writer and a witty bloke, but let's be honest, Ricky was the star in that partnership, certainly at that time. Maybe it took Robin time away from Ricky to realise what was going on, but I suspect he knew at the time but was touring with the big star and getting jobs off the back of him. Being an up and coming comedian is tough, and getting some breaks because of a "friend" who happens to be a big star - it must be tempting to put up with almost anything for a chance like that.
