XG don’t consider themselves as K-Pop, they call them an X-Pop group with the X stands for them wanting to make music the way they want to. XG is a Japanese girl group living in South Korea. Despite living in Asia, their inspirations are from the western OG like Kehlani and TLC. Check out their full rap track, Woke Up. 😃

Man... cool that you pointed out, that get in to Kpop change your perspective, same happened to me, I have always heard about Kpop but I never gave it a chance to sit down and listen to it, until I did and it really changed and broadened my perspective,even if XG are not categorized as Kpop I believe that thanks to this musical genre I found several of my favorite artists and people, like XG 🐺

Brief details about XG. They are a group of 7 ladies from Japan but operate out of Korea. They are exceptional rappers, singers, and dancers. The are signed to the company XGALX. The CEO is also the creator and producer, Simonn, also known as JAKOPS. Their title tracks are all in English. They trained intensely for 5 years before they debuted in March of 2022. They are not really considered k-pop but "X-pop" instead since they dive into many different genres. Their lore is that they are "Galactic Wolves" traveling the galaxy conquering planets. Thank you for acknowledging you weren't sure if they were K-pop, because they aren't. Way too many people just assume they're Korean. I understand why, but at the same time, it's low key racist!😂 They are all Japanese or Japanese mix that sing in English and they're on a Japanese label.👊🐺🤘

XG is not kpop, they are Japanese not korean , if anything it should be jpop, but they consider themselves as xpop as they do all genre.
