Got7 was the first kpop group I stanned for and the only kpop group I listened to. Then, I heard the Galz Xypher and started listening to XG songs. They become my first female kpop(Jpop) group I stan for. I think these two groups have the same vibes in regards to vocal distributions, the dynamic of the songs, their aura (each member is super talented and a star) and they really blend hip-hop and R&B into their music well. Hence big fan :) Oh also I agreed that Jurin's stage presence is always on fire even if it's only a dance practice. Again, she reminds me of how fire JayB's stage presence is lol

Oooooohhhh yes the JayB comparison is nice. They have this very dominant aura that they KNOW how good they are and show it even when they are not the focal point of the choreo. One of the reasons why JayB is my ULT so that explains why I’m soo drawn to Jurin’s performance skill

Yes I definitely am genuinely impressed with both her and Juria. I felt they were the most “laid back” members (which is perfectly fine too) but they are just as aggressive as everyone else😭😭😭don’t let the adorable look fool you!

I totally agree with the take on Chisa and I'll extend it a bit, she also seems mature, the way she carries herself is womanly rather than girly. Often times this "mature femininity" makes her look like a diva (Left Right MV and live), it's something I've been feeling since Tippy Toes, maybe even from her MOVE performance! This dance practice had Jurin setting herself apart from the others, usually some of the members shine in different parts of a song, but here she owned it! Oh I've heard Chisa was an actress (hadn't confirmed it) and we know that Jurin and Harvey were models, therefore it is no surprise that they can catch the audience attention so easily. The only one without previous experiences but with a punching presence is Cocona... I guess innate sauce can't be beat. Thank you for the reaction Erick 💪

I agree with both of your points! She's also my bias. I imagine under her skin there are just two things; a dancer's heart, and WATER, because she's so passionate about her moves, and so fluid in her movements. I love all seven girls, but Hinata is my girl, and I hope she gets everything in life that she's working so hard for.

I felt the same way while watching this. They just make me happy. They are so loose! It takes blood, sweat, and tears to be that precise, that practiced, and be that nonchalant about it. Their formations and transitions are tight - they’re not spread out all over the place - and they never have to look at their feet or see where the other members are. They know everyone else is going to hit their marks. Shout out to their team, too. It seems like they’re keeping a good balance for their workload.

XG is pure fire. I think this comeback really put them on the radar for a lot of folks. All their performances are excellent. This group is just strong at everything. Every member carries their own weight equally. We just need more music from them. I see what their doing though…they are building a fan base and teasing us with singles, getting us thirsty….so when they drop an EP or full album, we are gonna go nuts.

XG promotes themselves as a global R&B/Hip-hop group, which i think is an accurate description. That being said, I love, love hearing them shout when they hit a particular move. It just shows they're loving it and having fun!

XG will be performing at the Head In The Clouds music festival, here in New York City this summer. ETA: I am saying this with my chest: in K-Pop, there's no girl group like XG. And I think this is why some of their fans are mislabeling them as a K-Pop gg. They want a K-Pop gg like XG. It is heavily desired. XG possesses the swag, the confidence and the aura that isn't found in any K-Pop gg. They're around-the-way girls. They act like they've attended a few cookouts in the past. They operate like they've been here before. Plus... I'mma keep it real... When it comes to the R&B and hip-hop, it's natural to them. It's not a costume that they put on for music show performances and music videos. They actually _listen and enjoy_ R&B and hip-hop music. They have expressed their appreciation for the music. That's the thing about K-Pop ggs and bgs that I've noticed. It comes off as costume-y at times. Its like they took people, who were raised listening to bubblegum pop and Pat Boone records and then told them that they were going to be "the next Wu-Tang Clan" or "Destiny's Child" or the next "Dru Hill". Like, they execute their singing parts and dancing parts very well, but the energy and confidence aren't matching. To be crude: it is like the "less experience" and chaste singing/performing songs that are about sex and making love. But then again, the Japanese people are built differently than Korean people, when it comes to appreciating traditional black music artforms. Take for instance: reggae and dancehall music. It has been popular in Japan since the 80s. They've built their own foundation and sub-culture. So, their confidence with their place in that world is natural.

I 💯 agree with your statement. There are no other gg that compares to them. I tried the others and it didn’t hit me as hard as XG. They are doing it right, they are doing it justice. In one of their recent interviews, they expressed how they love hip hop and R&B and made that their core identity. Their library of songs and artists knowledge is wide. I’m so impressed.

This is why all the CA talk about this group especially about Cocona and the braids get on my nerves. If you take the time to look at their behind the scenes stuff and how they act and what they listen to, you would know they are genuine. People need to stop blanketly calling everything appropriation and realize sometimes it just appreciation.

@@jab1073 I do think those online accusations are coming from XG antis and from non-black people, who are either trying to act like a savior or not knowing how to pick their battles. For the latter, they would absolutely hate my hometown: New York City. They will encounter people that will have the traditional black hairstyles. They will speak in the same dialects as the black citizens. A person couldn’t and wouldn’t be able to stop and lecture every non-black person about CA, in my city. Plus, not all braided hairstyles are created equal. Braids are hairstyles that has been around since the beginning of humanity. Most cultures have their own braided hairstyles. With that said, of course, the black race has their unique styles which can easily be traced back to us.

Actually I think your bias Maya is the swiss army knife of this group and maybe the x-factor. She may not be considered top in any category but she is strong in every category. Vocally she is on level with Hinata, behind Juria and Chisa. The same with dancing behind Jurin and Cocona. As for rapping I guess it comes down to what is your preference. Also the fact she is the most fluent in English

I would have to disagree w/ you on the X factor if you would. All 7 are dancers. Jurin gets a lot of attention bc she is the leader & seen the most but they all kill the minor roles they are equally given. Chisa Hinata Maya Cocona. can't really pin point a true X factor. there's dozens good vocalist like Chisa. I would have to say Harvey is the X factor. No one in the industry has her tone. She literally changes Each song with her tone which really sets them apart from any other group. All 7 are in the center each song & they hold their own w/ Jurin , BUT if I would have to say attention grabbers while dancing it splits from Jurin, Maya, Cocona, Harvey. These 4 has slight movements and facials that attract you. Chisa, Hinata, Juria has the pro look but just don't show that extra that grabs your attention. Thats just what I see these talented gals does when I watch them.

Those are very fair points! I feel like Harvey is the *most unique* but Chisa has the most mature sounding voice of the group which elevates their sound beyond their years and allows them to hit that rnb aesthetic with their music. she is also a very underrated dancer. Her stage presence isn’t as loud as some of the other members but she still has the sass to match. It’s not that she is particularly amazing at one specific thing but she is very good at multiple different things and that’s what makes her the x-factor by definition in my opinion. But I agree that all 7 are sooo good that it is hard to pinpoint. My opinion could change moving forward honestly but at this point, I think I got Chisa for the X factor

@@infinitelocke Fair point. but after seeing Move #1 They all can eat on moves. But I lean on the youngin's (M&C) more bc when they hit 20 yrs old they gonna be beast mode on sing/rap/moves bc they already elite now.
