Hello! A little info on XG for you. XG is a 7 member GLOBAL girl group. They are all Japanese (Harvey is half Australian and Hinata is half Korean i believe), but their company(XGALX) is based in Korea. It's sub label of AVEX Inc. which is Japanese company. They promote like K-Pop groups, but they are NOT K-pop. All their songs are in completely English, except some of their Cyphers. They can rap/sing in English, Japanese, and Korean. XG is completely fluent in Korean and Japanese but they choose to sing/rap in English because they are a Global Girl Group. They want to reach as many people as possible. This is why they sing in English even though they could sing in Korean or Japanese. Fandom is called ALPHAZ because the leader of a pack of wolves is called the Alpha. They want to call it X-POP because they do not want to be confined to a single genre. They want it all, they are aiming for Global, they even did Rock Remixes of Shooting Star & Left Right. Also the letter X often represents the unknown, it represents infinite quantities, a statement of refusal to be defined. When you refuse to be defined, you make room to expand your identity.

Instead of a storyline, their music videos usually show more aesthetic while following the concept of alien wolf pack. They often refer themselves to a wolf pack even in their lyric. Their fandom name is the Alphaz. Their main reason for this concept is most likely because of their trainee years. XG was trained by a man named Simon Jakops for 5 years before debuting in 2022. During their training, he make sure that these girls understand the importance of work ethic, determination, and teamwork to be the best girl group that they can be. They are also want to be successful globally, not just in Japan (their homeland). Also, they also want to break stereotypes which is also the reason why Cocona shaved her head. XG is also inspired by OG western artists R&B and rappers like Beyoncé and Jay-Z. THEY PAID A LOT OF HOMAGES TO THE OG IN THEIR EXTRA CONTENTS. They have their cyphers, XG Tape. They have XG Vox videos where they cover songs of other artists like TLC No Scrubs. They also have dance choreography videos where each of them show many different dance styles like hip-hop, XG Move. XG, Xtraordinary Girls. 7 members, 4 rappers, 3 singers. All Japanese, Japanese Mix, on a Japanese label but based in SK. And you called it! Hip-hop and R&B. I admit I get a little irritated when people assume K-pop, but it's understandable. I am so glad you went back to read Cocona's bus scheme in Woke Up. A lot of people get distracted by her head shaving and miss it. Woke Up is their first all rap single. In addition to their OMVs; XG Tapes showcase the 4 rappers. XG Vox's showcase the 3 singers.

Yeah, it kind of goes into the all Asians are the same trope. Like I said I do understand people not being able to distinguish between the different countries just by looks and the fact that K-pop is all the rage at the moment. What I don't understand is the people that will argue with me that its still Korean pop even tho not sung in Korean and no Korean members! They'll say they trained and promote in SK. Who describes music this way? XG themselves say hip-hop and R&B, so you nailed it! Oh and the storyline for Shooting Star was mobile apps!😂 After the loading screen (hello?😂), Jurin and Coco starts off in COD like game with the Apache helicopter. Then Harvey, Chisa, and Juria are in a Mario Kart Rainbow Rood environment. There's a map app, where the route traces a star. They give that app a 5 star rating. Harvey is framed in a phone. The XG app gets 7 notifications at the end. You're welcome😂👊🐺✌️

I'm not even that big on rock and metal, but there's something about women just absolutely shredding in what used to be such a male dominated genre that makes it extra cool! I’ve watched every Reaction I can find for all XG content. It gets harder and harder….I mean no disrespect but to commenting on “simple bars” when this isn’t a bar breakdown video is impolite. I didn’t look to see how many subs you have but you may be introducing people to groups who never would have listened to them. There should be some responsibility in what’s said. This was a fun watch. XG is I believe a mostly Japanese group, but they do promote in English on Korean circuits. They also will often use Sign Language in their choreo, and are considered to be a 'global group' over a 'kpop' group. The one with the tone you liked it Tippy Toes at 2:37 is Harvey, and yes, I can always pick her out, she has such a style and sass to the way she raps. She is not the one who shaved her head though. 8:08 is Cocona. She is the youngest in the group (I think she was like 16 at debut) and is seriously a beast rapper and performer. Don't quote me on all of this haha, I only know bits and pieces about them, but can name most of the members. You would really like "GRL GVNG" (like girl gang). It has a teaser video, which is a fantastic MV but isn't the whole song. The dance practice is amazing!

XGs concept is that they are an alien shape shifting wolfpack. Here on earth to uplift and make people happy with their music. Sounds weird but the more you watch them, the more it work make sense. Aliens - They are different. Doing things you don't see from other groups. Definitely not like anything around now. All 7 could be individually successful. A group of aces with no weak links. Shape shifting - While they have a hip-hop/R&B base, you never know the vibe you're gonna get. Both visually and musically. They have songs that give you hip-hop, R&B, pop, club/EDM. They are so versatile. This is why they don't identify as Kpop or Jpop. And you never know what they're going to look like. Humans? Aliens? Their favorite form, however, is wolves. TAPE #4 in particular consists of 4 separate short videos for each one of them and since they're all less than 2 minutes each you could consider the 4 as a singular video. - VOX #6 (JURIA, HINATA, CHISA): the VOX series showcases the 3 vocalists abilities, and VOX #6 in particular is beautiful both musically and visually. - Winter Without You: and since you just listened to a full rap song of theirs, I'll also recommend WWY witch is a full vocal song. @@LenaBeeReacts XG mentioned 2NE1 in their Documentary as well, the only KPOP group they actually did mention. Then they did a Remix of 2NE1's I Am The Best paired with their own song TGIF at KCON LA, it was to kick off the whole show.
