The opening scene with Chisa, she is shouting in Japanese "Ogenki desu ka?" (translated: Are you ok? or How are you?) and then answering 'Watashi wa genki desu" (translated: "I am fine or ok"). This is mimics a scene from the 1995 movie "Love Letter" by Iwai and starring Miho Nakayama, who plays 2 roles in the movie: Fiancee of Itsuki Fujii, who dies in a mountain climbing tragedy. 2 years later, she finds out his childhood home wasn't in Kobe, but to the north. So she writes a letter to that address, and she gets a reply to her letter! The person who replies has the same name as her fiance, and she plays that role, too! Great emotional movie!
