this is pretty much veteran/big name hiphop artists from both japan and korea giving their seals of approval to XG's hiphop game. not only rapping to XG's beat but also shouting out to XG in the raplines.

The guy starting his verse with a Tokyo Drift sample is called Verbal. He's a member of Teriyaki Boyz (the group who did Tokyo Drift) and also a member of the popular hip hop / electro group M-flo.

There's definitely some fans that have an issue with this remix being on the mini album considering the girls aren't on the song, but as a bonus track I kinda love it. It's pulling all these artists together, cross culturally like XG set out to do

There is no reason for them to NOT be in the song. It is plain dmb. Imagine if they made a feature with all of these rappers. They would be "happy" then. This is casual Simon sht. Has anyone EVER seen anything like this? A song in an album by "X" artist(s) and the only artist(s) that are not in the song is him/her/them lmao. That makes 0 sense. That literally never happened in the history of music. If anyone knows anything like this, let me know.

Some people don’t know how remixes work, it surprises me when people don’t know that some remixes don’t always have the original artist in it. Like huh?hip-hop was built on sampling beats and entire instrumentals from artists. Missy Elliott did it in 2017, recently Yuki Chiba did a plethora of remixes to his Team Tomodachi where he wasn’t on it but he still released it officially, why can’t people let XG be recognized by their peers especially legendary artists from their country and from South Korea their figuratively connecting the bridge that they set out to do. And it’s not like the remixes done before for XG aren’t any different either like Ciara and Jackson Wang or Rico only gave a couple of verses on the original track.

@@dhanimals. It is not about the song being a "remix" lol. Simon can call it whatever he wants. Why not make it a feat instead of whatever BS this is ? You simonators try anything to defend him its pathetic. Also, it is in the album. KEKW. Anything you said still stands if it was a feature and it would even be better. So your argument is meaningless. Provide any negative points if XG members were in the song, I'm waiting.

I love that both artists from S. Korea and Japan. Several have been part of XGALX’s Production Team. Awich was mentioned by XG members after their XGALZ Zypher #2. I’ve listened to several of her songs…including her collab with VANNDA a popular Cambodian Rapper “Six years in the game”. This REMIX is 🔥 but I’m older and new styles and sounds are Amazing to me. Thank you ZACK. 🐺🐺🐺

I think Simon-san did a project uniting Korean and Japanese rappers, presenting their talents to the world using the WokeUp beat. Expect an XG Collab with these artists soon. It's going to be an awesome XGALX musical journey. Just a shout out to Filipino Alphaz, take note of the Maguindanao Kulintang gong in timestamp 2:50 - 2:55. SimonJAKOPS is a genius, indeed.

I also suggest you listen to Tokyo Drift by TERIYAKI BOYZ (Verbal is a member of this group), where that kulintang sample was originally used on. Simon-san used that sample for Verbal's part as their ode to "Tokyo Drift," one of the first J-hip-hop tracks to go viral when the movie "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift" came out in 2006.

The "dragon all over my skin" line refers to dragon tatoos, common in Japan and China.

True, but OZWorld is also from Okinawa (same as Awich and XG Cocona), and dragons are a huge part of Okinawa's history and culture (Ryukyu Kingdom) before Japan colonized them. He's a very proud Okinawan and those dragon tattoos are proof of them.

@@adrimarsinkOkinawa was made a vassal state of Kagoshima, but it wasn’t colonized by Japan. It was temporarily colonized by the U.S., but with strong public sentiment, the people drove them out and rejoined Japan. China claims that Okinawa was its vassal state and that Japan took it, but Okinawa was an independent nation until it came under Kagoshima's control, so that’s completely false. Stop parroting Chinese propaganda.

@@f1mbultyr Yup LOL. After all, how did Okinawa become a vassal state of Kagoshima? The Shimazu Clan invaded the Ryukyu Islands (1609), pretty much how colonization works in the first place LOL. Then again, Okinawa, like almost half of Asia (Korea, parts of Indonesia, Philippines, even Japan itself LOL) was a tributary state with China back then🤷‍♀️

Have you heard Cocona cover Homicide? She was rapping as fast as him. I was so surprised. Simon says Cocona has rapid-fire rhymes. I think her issue is the language barrier. Her English isn't as strong as Maya's so she gets the fast rapping and I think Cocona likes the laid back approach...lol.
