basically to summarise, the dance is about bullying (obviously) and they represented how the girl in white was different. she was peer pressured into being the same but they still bullied her. the white paint signifies the damage they did to her and when a dancer takes her neck, that’s when the bullied one is gone. one dancer said that they wanted to become teachers to help children and the girl crying was explaining why she wanted to become a teacher (her past experiences). in the music itself, there was a part with whispers. those whispers included the phrases bullies used to make a victim scared like “i was just messing” “you wouldn’t want everyone to know about this, would you?”. hope that helps :)

Using the school lunch tables as a prop shows another side of how peer pressure can be involved in bullying in school. But teachers hate us doing stuff like this to expose them for choosing the side of the bully instead of the victim and what can happen.

This is what I understand. This dance is about bullying and they wanted to be teachers. One of the judges ask why they wanted to be teachers. And one of the dancers answered that the reason she wanted to be a teacher because she too had been bullied at one point and she tried/could not seek help, so she wanted to be a teacher so she could help those children that are bullied. (tell me if I am wrong, because I know Mandarin but I know basics only).

Nossa, a performance foi como contar uma história sem palavras. Não sei exatamente como cada um vê essa performance mas pra mim foi como ser silenciada diante da opressão, seja na carreira ou na vida pessoal. Pessoas que sofrem com o bullying sabe como essa performance tocou profundamente, eu mesma já passei por isso e.... Foi como ter minhas emoções descritas em uma dança... A opressão das pessoas, a nossa voz que é silenciada, nossos olhos que tem que se manter fechados para tentar lidar com a dor de sofrer todos os dias, ser apontado por pequenas coisas e mesmo assim ainda sorrir para as pessoas ou a mídia e fingir que tudo está bem. 😢 Não é fácil falar, não é fácil lidar, não é fácil sobreviver quando isso ocorre. 🥺

@@zaccariadiggs3656it’s a different girl. she was initially one of the bullies but when she removed her blindfold - i think it was a symbolism that she wouldn’t turn a “blind” eye to the bullying anymore. So when they painted her white, it was symbolism to show that she’ll be the next target of bullying if she keeps her eyes open (so they covered it again).

It was the same girl. You can see that they tore her white clothes off in the circle when they show the camera shot from above. The dancers being in the circle around her is to hide clothing change. It was like a “quick change” type of thing, if that makes sense. It’s to show that she was peer pressured into acting the same as everyone else, but in the end, it doesn’t change anything. She still gets bullied and it’s too much for her. The bullies “win” when she can’t take it anymore and ends her own life.
