Xiamen University was founded by a philanthropist, the late Mr Tan Kah Kee from Singapore in colonial British Malaya. It has one of the most beautiful university campus in China along with Wuhan University, Tsinghua, Sun Yat-sen U and a few others. The only overseas branch campus of her is in Malaysia.

Max, I can definitely see why this is one of the most sought-after universities in China, it's gorgeous. I love the greenery mixed with the nice architecture. Mr Tan Kah Kee like many overseas successful Chinese in Malaysia and Singapore in the early 1900s made their money in rubber and tin. Most of them came from China with nothing more than their clothes on their back. They succeeded through sheer hard work and perseverance. But they never forget their roots.
