Mike Ross’ Thor was so impressive for being a lower tier character that I added him into my team comp. I really felt like Mike Ross fighting an uphill battle against all odds. I trained for hours on end with minimal breaks, surviving off deli meats, ritz crackers, and a dream. I did this for several months in preparation for Final Round 15 in Atlanta. I lost $5 in a money match and figured it was the other guys luck. I think his name was Noel something. Then I got 3-0’d in pools. I haven’t played Marvel since that fateful day. But seeing Mike go toe to toe with top tier picks without knowing how to OTG or launch made me realize that by learning the fundamentals as well as he has… I too could lose to top tier teams without it being so embarrassing. I too, could build the resilience and fortitude to take a relentless beating, look up at my opponent while bruised and bloodied and say “is that all you got? This isn’t even my final form”. Thanks Mike, for being the people’s champion. Xian has some skills for sure! I’d want to see more lower tier character picks just because I find them more entertaining.

Back then, Xian stayed in states for a bit leading to EVO. He used to play UMvC3 back in Super Arcade and appeared on streams for The Runback (THURS) weekly. He was legit when he tried.

I've played Xian in MvC2 before in the arcades in Singapore. Unfortunately he isn't good with that game, MvC2's execution is very different from MvC3 or SF, its not about learning some combo sequence. Not to mention the zoning, rush down and footsie game is also very different from the usual fighting games. Unless Xian some how tried to play MvC2 seriously since then, I have to say Xian will have no chance against Mike who is a MvC2 player from the beginning.
