i just started playing xiangqi. since i didn't want to buy a real board i made one myself. i don't confuse the pieces anymore and i know all of the rules. the only thing i have to do now, is all about strategy! ;) thanks for the videos! i'll watch them when i have time!

Always try to make space for horse early by pushing up a pawn. You opponent's typical move would be to move the opposite side pawn as well.

Thanks very much for the videos. They are very helpful in helping me to learn more about the game.

I have two additional questions. Is there a way to get the subtitle text in a file? I want to take the text and add my own comments to it for my own notes. Also, is there a website that sells xiangqi demonstration boards like the one you use in your videos? I can't find any sites in the US, so far.

CAn you show me how to start the game (if the opponent go first)? I mean how can we play this game and not to let the canon and the horse stucked ? I don't how to defence great, i alway get stucked because of canon and horse ....

8:02, "Red has this Pawn push initiative"? Then the Black also push his Pawn across the river. I don't get it.

@hk92jimmy thank you very much! i managed to beat a very easy computer recently, but i doubt that my skills are enough to succeed against the normal one.
@WaningLoon3 жыл бұрын
this is way more complicated than normal chess
@DieFlabbergast2 жыл бұрын
No, it isn't. They are roughly equally complex. You're just not used to xiangqi yet.

6:20 there is no reason whatsoever for the black cannon to not take the red knight on the right, he would be threatening the red xiang after that move so the red rook cannot move. Black's rook and knight wouldn't be trapped if he had done that instead. This is not a good vid.
@danku84749 жыл бұрын
Black had to take the knight with pawn or else that knight would be free to move then the red knight on the right
