killing Voidgrubs grants a buff that burns structures when you attack. You can see the floating white number that runs and stops at 911 when he died; it actually still ticks but he lost vision of the tower so it stops showing too. The mini void thingy that spawns are called Voidmites, not Voidgrubs.
