This whole event was through out tensioned, and no one really smiled happily. If they would've taken their seats, they might've not been able to sit together because each of them has a new series to promote (Legend of Fei and Oath of Love) so obviously, they'd have to sit with their on-screen girlfriends. Last year they could sit together without a problem because they promoted the same series. When they stood on the stage at the same time to receive their awards, Tencent wanted that the artists stood in pairs (XZ and WYB of course had to stand next to their on-screen girlfriends) and they all were supposed to stand in a line like "man, woman, man, woman" and so on. In the beginning, the two actresses in the middle stood next to each other, but later another man came to stand between them. So if XZ and WYB would've stood together it would've destroyed the planned formation. In my opinion, Tencent didn't have any 'bad' intentions towards them otherwise instead of allowing two of the most anticipated guests of the show to stay backstage most of the time, they would've forced them to take their seats so that the fans could watch them and would also have them act like they are not close. (like it happened at weibo nights) So for me weibo nights and today's Tencent awards are totally different, I think that is also obvious when you look at the expressions of XZ and WYB, they both look happy.
