I'm not confident enough to invest almost $1000 in a Xiaomi phone; it's just because of their software. Solid performance, an excellent set of cameras, great built quality-but at the end of the day, the user experience is all that matters. MIUI has gone down since 2020/21. Look at Nothing Phone 1. The specs aren't mind boggling; instead, their software optimisation and user experience is what make it standout. I hope Xiaomi improves it for the better.

I have grown disillusioned with Samsung. First was the S9, then the Note 20 Ultra. The short battery life was a pain in the ass, the damn thing boils in your palm after half an hour of use and the latest issue is the greenline. Change to the Xiaomi 12 pro, the best phone I ever owned.

But, Poco has a lot of issues, one of them is missing features on MIUI 14 for Poco as they promised us to give, and it disappoints me. They're no longer the flagship killer i remember since Poco F2 Pro, just like what happened to OnePlus with their OP7, everything went downhill with it.

After reading several reviews of the Xiaomi 13 Pro, I don't understand why someone would pick this over the Galaxy S23 Ultra as they're basically the same price in most markets. Would be a different story if the Xiaomi was more budget-friendly. Some of the S23U advantages: - Better CPU & GPU performance (factory overclocked chipset) - Better battery life (11h more on GSM Arena's overall endurance rating) - All-around better camera system (better telephoto, better image stabilization, better selfie camera, better video processing); the 1-inch sensor, like for the Xperia PRO-I, is a gimmick as the image circle of a smartphone camera lens can't cover a sensor that big - S-pen! - USB-C 3.2 (I can't understand how Xiaomi thought USB-C 2.0 is acceptable in 2023) - Slightly better screen brightness in testing; the Xiaomi doesen't come anywhere near the advertised 1900 nits in any of the tests I've seen - Significantly less bloatware The only real advantages that go to the Xiaomi: - Better (more than twice as fast) charging speeds with power brick included in the box - Dolby Vision support

If you're okay with the Chinese version I think the Xiaomi is the much better choice. You can get a 12/256 version for $950 including tax and shipping. That is way better than the s23+ 12/256 for $1000 not including tax or a fast charger. To me this phone is better than the s23+ though I agree it isn't better than the s23 ultra, but given the s23 ultra is out of price range I'll be gladly buying the Chinese version of this instead of the s23+ or Vivo x90 Pro Plus

Specs and looks alone isn't enough to sell phones by this point anymore. In built software functions are the key instead in the future. Remember when removing background objects in photos and beautifying selfies can only be done on computers and then these functions made it into the phones eventually? Something similar will happen again with phones having built in AI functions like image generating and chatbot abilities like midjourney and chat gpt. By then you can made,edit,voice and generate videos just by using a phone alone. That is going to be the next big hoohaa in mobile phones. Currently just improving camera and gaming performance are getting kind of boring already.

My primary concern with Xiaomi is with the long-term performance of Xiaomi phones, as the company has a reputation for selling defective products. For instance, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra model had a defective WiFi chip, which now prevents me from using WiFi on my phone. What's a phone without WiFi. While I considered repairing it, the cost of the repair was prohibitively high, amounting to 61% of the original phone's price. Unfortunately, this issue occurred just after my warranty expired. I have heard from others that they faced similar issues with their Xiaomi phones, and were also dissatisfied with the company's service support.

Exactly! In addition, they are not known for timely updates for their software. If the 13 or the 13 Pro do get timely updates it'll probably only be for 3 years. They're asking a lot of money for a product that'll only get three years of updates. Especially, when you can purchase a Oneplus 11 and get four years of Android updates and five years of security patches. Furthermore, you can purchase the 11 for a much lower price.

Today i was able to briefly hold the Xiaomi 13 and 13 lite in my hand. The selfie cam of the Lite version was better than the 13 and Samsung S23. It was unlike other Chinese phones. Maybe it was the position i was in but in my brief selfie test it was better.

Bullshit 😂 selfie cams on these Chinese phones crank up the beauty mode to ridiculous levels 😂 and their selfie cameras only record at 1080p resolution 😂 I can’t imagine spending over $800 to 1,000 on a smartphone in 2023 with that kind of limitation/compromise. This is a similar price to the S23+. It is £1099 in the UK for 12GB/256GB, so more RAM as well. It has a charger, case included (and screen protector) and QHD (S23+ only 1080p). It has a larger battery than the S23+ and better cameras (IMHO). I was looking at the S23+ but having seen this will buy this for the family instead.

Samsung is becoming more like Apple, Xiaomi is becoming more like Samsung. Pricing is 300€ more expensive than in China, for the same phones. There is a huge gap between midrange (500€ 13 lite) and flagship (1000€ 13 model). The Pro is almost as expensive as the S23 Ultra but isn't an Ultra phone (no 5x or 10x zoom, no 4k front video, no S-Pen, etc) They really have to be innovative and unique for the Ultra model (which should have been launched along the 13 series) to sell well.

Most of what you said is false. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is £1099 in the UK for the 12GB model, so £300 less than the S23U. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be priced similarly to the S23U. The Xiaomi 13 Pro competes with the S23+ in price but has 4GB more RAM, and comes with a case, charger and screen protector. The China version is cheaper as there are no transport costs, 20% VAT, or EU compliance and other factors. I think it is a lack of common sense and understanding or just blind loyalty to Samsung that we get comments like yours.

Excellent video ! This xiaomi confuses me…and I have some questions how I use the zoom lens….the what I do is to press the 50 mp and choose how close I want the picture…is this the telephoto zoom? @@badbad-cat No way. Samsung and Apple's software and ecosystem integration is simply superior to MIUI. This phone is a hardware beast for sure (and for the minority like me that's mostly what matters) but for the rest of the world this Xiaomi is the rip off in comparison. Xiaomi's software, polish, reliability and ecosystem integration is leagues behind Apple's and Samsung's. Apple and Samsung simply offer a more complete, reliable package and that's why no-one will by the Xiaomi 13s at the prices they are at.

Also Samsung doesn't provide adapter, factory installed screen protector which cost you extra money...not saying i hate Samsung but it im saying it also does some of it's cons. I owned note 10 plus and xiaomi mi 9 with sd855. For me xiaomi is smoother while Samsung is quite sluggish except xiaomi camera software is not quite good..
