Hi Michael: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I have watched hundreds of youtube videos on the device review. One thing I must appreciate is the clarity. Your voice, throw, accent, and technical information were all PROFESSIONAL and very well presented. In many videos I have noticed as the guys are making it right after waking up or in the night where they talk like a chicken not to wake up his wife or mother, mumbling, slangs, and what not. I really enjoyed 13 minutes of your video, perhaps one of the BEST from all aspects. Thank you very much for sharing with the world. Keep up the good sharing. You are a bright, brilliant, and lively person who enjoys what he does. Great job Mike.

Great video as always! I've been using a bunch of AX3000's in my home for a while now for that awesome mesh coverage. One huge performance bump I've recently made was to buy a separate Mi AIOT AX3600 router to serve as the parent/root mesh node, that connects directly to my fiber modem. All the children nodes are still AX3000. With this change, I've seen a significant improvement in overall speed and bandwidth, as well as better MU/MIMO handling of more connected devices.
@TechMishka2 жыл бұрын
Oh, this is great to know! I was wondering whether adding AX3600 or AX9000 would make sense, but since only AX9000 is around - I just decided it's too huge for my taste. Awesome piece of info, much appreciated.

So if I understand this correctly you can use an ax6000 as your main router and connect several ax3000 as mesh access points? Interesting! Is it possible to assign ip addresses via MAC address via the configuration ui? I really need that function as my isps router doesn’t support it and I’m having several devices that can’t be assigned with a fixed ip…
@KixPanganiban2 жыл бұрын
@@kimheymans6662 Yes, AX6000 as the internet gateway/primary node, and a bunch of AX3000s downstream. And yes, you can configure static IPs by binding them to mac addresses pretty easily, though you may need to hop back and forth Google Translate a bit since the web ui is in Chinese.

Great video. I bought 3 of them, but now I have discovered that you cannot mesh them in daisy-chain topology if you are using wireless backhaul. They will only mesh wirelessly in Star topology. It is quite disappointing if you have a large house. The furthest device will not mesh with an intermediate one, it will only connect back to the primary device, causing poor signal.

Great review. I have bought 3 AX3000 to create a Mesh network for a detached 3 floors house. I am facing a problem with the structure of the network. The main router is in the 1st floor and the other two are in floor 2 and 3. The issue is that the router on the 3rd floor is connecting to the main router in 1st floor and not to the one on the 2nd floor so the signal in 3rd floor is not as good as expected. I would expect that the routher on the 3rd floor would connecto the one in the 2nd floor but the fact is that it isn't and I can't find any way to change the setup of the network. 1) No bridge mode therefor cannot extend your current network, the ax3000 will create a another network with you having no access to your current network if connecting to the ax3000. 2) cannot assign a stationary device to a specific node thus if a stationary device lands on a node further away with low signal it will stay on that low signal node, 3) no usb for ax3000 and ax3200 thus cannot put a usb with music or videos on your network for your smart speakers or tv's. The lack of daisy chain communication is concerning but I have not tested that.😐

As a System and Network administrator at my daily job (well, not so much anymore I guess) I always had an issue trusting such a router cause of many claims that such companies do spy on you, I know Xiaomi is one of the well known brands and I myself do use some of their products and love them, but there's something in my network admin mind that is having an issue routing all my home traffic through such a device, I did want once to get one of those and do some advanced testing and even packet tracing to check it but never got to it. I ended up with a different WiFi6 router from a brand I previously used and loved but it still remains probably the best bank for the buck wifi6 router in my opinion.

Hello, I have a Xiaomi router, with same GUI as in the video. I have a WD My Cloud PR4100 NAS, I wish to access it from outside my network. U have said at 10:52 that you access your NAS from outside the network. Can you please guide me how I can access my NAS from outside the network? Thank you.

Did anyone noticed that when you setup the guest network it only works on the main node. It doesn't go through the secondary nodes. Can you please test this?
@jmj4292 жыл бұрын
Spent many hours trying to extend the guest network over the satellite nodes but could not make it work at all, it will only provide a guest network from the main device. Contacted Xiaomi about it but have had no response. I was hoping to do away with the router the internet provider supplied and just use the AX3000, but have opted to use the provider's router's wifi as the admin network (only needed within reach of their router), and use the whole meshed Xiaomi network as the guest network over the rest of the building - it's default IP pool is different from the provider's one so that provides the seperation. As an aside, if you do need to change the AX3000 gateway, access the settings via a browser on the default 192.168.31.1 as this can't be done from the app. If someone knows how to extend the guest network, I would love to know.

Very good point! I should have clearly said this - most new Wi-Fi standards are backwards-compatible with old ones. Works like charm with all older Wifi enabled devices.

I have 2 Xiaomi AX1800 that create a mesh system on my home (the model are very similar with AX3000). I wonder if someday I am buying AX3000, can me still make my AX1800 as Mesh router while the primary router is the AX3000? 1 other thing I still curious, what is the comparison between this 2 devices (AX1800 vs AX3000)? search a long in google, and found nothing there Can anybody help answer my question?
@TechMishka2 жыл бұрын
Most likely it will be possible, you may have to reset the environment however. As for comparison - likelt the bandwidth differs, but I don't think it is anything significant.

How about using this AX3000 as a mesh, but without Xiaomi router? I have much better and more configurable router, all I need is a seamless mesh wifi network to cover my whole house (signal barely makes it through the ceilings, APs would be connected with ethernet backhaul)... This device would be really good, since it has only one 5GHz band - since additional 5GH bands are used ONLY to provide wireless backhaul, it would be useless for me
@TechMishka2 жыл бұрын
Hey, that's indeed an excellent question; I believe this is not possible.

is this a router or an extender? if that is an extender, why do i have to connect it to a router first then use this thing as an extender to my comp or tv since there will be a delay and loss of mbs when i can simply connect the other end of the fiber optic to the tv ethernet port or comp port and so i would have ZERO delay and ZERO loss of mbs????????????????

Hello, i 've recently bought a single ax3000 after watching your review with the intent to use it as a mesh node on my main router (xiaomi ax3600). When i am accessing the node via the topology page i need to enter the default password "admin" and there seems to be no way i can change that password. I ve searched everywhere but i cant find a way.. also the node is not visible via the Mi wifi app so i can manage it from there. Any insights ?
@barmitsva6897 Жыл бұрын
Hello, I need help please. I am thinking of getting this but I'm reading it doesn't do daisy chain topology when connecting 3 nodes via wireless backhaul. Can you confirm if I can do it or will I face the problem that the 3rd node will connect to the first rather the second?
