I prefer the Xiaomi mostly . Especially in the night shots where it actually picked up the soft glow of the colored lights much better and I really liked the audio much more in the Xiaomi.

Mi 10 ultra is a great phone,but for me note 20 ultra is better in recording for software and IP 68 rating,if Xiaomi rated this phone with IP 68 It would have been the best high end phone for now

Damn I never thought I would say this anytime soon but I think I prefer the Xiaomi's camera over the Samsung's one. I remember the comparison between the Mi Note 10 vs S10+ and that one was a close call, but the Samsung definitely had some advantages. Now with this Mi 10 Ultra they practically nail the white balance and exposure in every single shot, the stabilizer is working flawlessly, the audio sounds so clean and the zoom is sharp! They still can correct some things like the clipping on those bright colors or the lack of front facing 4K video, but damn, the phone is still selling for under 800 USD.

White balance, and colors in general, can be easily edited. Clipping, noise, out of focus etc. cannot. It's clear to me the samsung tends more towards yellow, but that's irelevant. Only the amount of detail matters.

Every photo on Samsung looked much better, but if you zoomed in Xiaomi was very close. Also, Xiaomi could have looked much better, but they did a very good move that wasn't appreciated. Maybe Xiaomi would have looked more detailed, but they made the photos and video soft and not oversharpened like everyone. This is a very good thing, which makes your foto and video look amazing and alive instead of a kinda pixelated photo and video. The smartphone camera has 1 problem, they oversharpened stuff, therefor land. *Why Samsung photos overall look better and it's not cuz of saturation or quality.* If we divide smartphones in neutral, like one plus, cold-like iPhone previously, and warm saturated like Samsung and lot of cheap phones. The reason when you prefer Samsun foto and video, Samsung always looks more detailed vs. an x phone in this example Xiaomi. That's cuz of how they make black punchy and dark colors very punchy. So it's not the saturation that makes their stuff more detailed, if for example black in a photo looks more washed out, the foto without coming to the max to details always looks more detailed very obviously! Therefore you should visit DxO mark, cuz that's smart. Their photo isn't the most detailed, but it looks the most detailed and punchy even compared to more saturated brands. Look at the cat for example. And with other color instead of saturation, they focus on making it more punchy. So it's like they saturate the photo part by part, so there is so least a possible washed out stuff. Therefore t mostly looks more detailed. If you look s10 vs s20, then you will understand that brands like Xiaomi can have a better camera and also better photos by preference if they use the right software and setting. On camera, they are basically the same phone!

I'm amazed. The front video microphone virtually has no difference, at least on my speakers. Back camera, Xiaomi is louder but quality seems similar. The rest, they're trading blows. Another point I'm suprised with is the custom Omnivision sensor that Xiaomi uses seems to do a better low light job than Samsung's GW2 (I believe).

Err maybe the S-pen?? Maybe the 1440p display which is the most expensive part of the phone? Maybe the variable 120hz that can drop down to even 10hz to save battery whereas Xiaomi stays at 120 all the time? Lets not forget the Note 20 has a 1440p display and yet somehow has better battery life than the Mi Ultra 10. We also get an SD card slot too if we get the Ultra model. We can also add the 3 years of software updates too compared to 2 from every other OEM including Xiaomi. In the camera department though the Super steady Samsung definelty won. Xiaomi mostly won with thier 5x zoom images and pictures. Overall I give it to Samsung

@@Shaady786 Shit-Pen, is useless for many people. 1440P Capable, comes in 1080P by default which means they themselves know more than that is not noticeable. No need to have Variable 120Hz, with that Exynos and Mali GPU sometimes you can't even have proper frame rate and there are noticeable frame drops. Battery life and charging times are better in Mi 10 Ultra, because Qualcom chipesets are more power efficient. Xiaomi with Miui has one of the best update systems, you have to try it then you know.

Got my 512gb 16gb ram model yesterday.. this phone is a beast! Even in america, oddly my cell signal is off the charts, I'm getting fast lte and now even 5g.....I wasn't able to on my s20 ultra. Some apps would take time to load especially apps that were heavy server based, on the mi 10 ultra it loads almost instantly. It's more comfortable in the hand it has access to all google play services, camera is google pixel level but better especially using Gmod camera. Hands down best phone I've used to date....I've owned over 200. What I'm really impressed by is how I'm getting 4x faster LTE speed and now even 5g speed in the same area I wasn't able to get it on the note 20 or s20( american variants mind you) I like some miui app but don't care for their home launcher, so with the flexibility of android I'm running nova launcher and all is well. They definitely did a killer job with this device. To boot I ordered it and 4days later it came express shipped from Hong Kong

Yes it's a top phone fantastic speeds on it. It outclasses my Note 20 Ultra (Not hard it's the Exynos version) and the thermals are great. Before watching I thought it's a no contest but it was closer than I thought. I believe Note won nonetheless but not by a huge margin. It better win when it's costing $1300! Also while shooting the 8K night footage you said the Note is struggling a bit more but the output from Mi was plain black. Can you explain that cause in my opinion something is better than nothing and there's definitely much visible footage coming out from the Note while there's was nothing from the Mi at all! Also it would be great if you could tell me which lens does the Note utilise for taking portrait shots. Great video btw.

Please take a look at MIUI 12 security system. It's super detailed (catch all the Apps behaviours and very strict to the permissions), however, it can be quite annoying some time.. It always restrict WhatsApp to read my contact, but I managed to solve it anyway..

Many youtubers usually forget to mention the HUGE difference in price between the Mi 10 Ultra and the other flagships they compare. In this case, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra costs twice more than the Mi 10 Ultra. I don't know any flagship that can beat the Mi 10 Ultra on this.

On videos side, I think overall Note 20 is a little bit better, except for the zoom. Mi 10 Ultra zoom camera is just amazingly sharp. On photos side, Note 20 is bad at zoom but have a good HDR. while Mi 10 Ultra is bad with red color and struggling at night (bright lamp) without Night Mode, but the zoom is pretty good and overall photos is a little bit sharper than Note 20 U. Overall at camera, both have very good quality and you can't go wrong with any of them. Also, props to Xiaomi, to finally have front EIS.

I prefer the audio from note20 the mic is much better in cancelling the noice making the voice clearer. In terms of main camera, for me its a tie, they are already good enough and the difference is not that much.The zooming part where Xiaomi did better than samsung. People tend to forget that price is also a feature in a phone . Perhaps , the most important feature ! With that said, Xiaomi is the winner . On one side, you get a phone . On the other side , you get a phone plus dozens of out meals or a vacation somewhere or dozens of new snickers or whatever ...

Thanks for the superb review and the huge effort. Agree with your conclusion as well. Xiaomi has issues with bright light and tends to over expose in certain areas, even in some normal conditions where a very bright source of light isn't present. However, the Zoom camera performance is good amount of better in Xiaomi. Looking at the images from Note 20 Ultra, it is actually slightly worse than my S20 Ultra, probably due to the sensor size as S20 Ultra, although having a 4X optical zoom vs 5X in Note 20 Ultra, the sensor size (64MP) is bigger.

The Samsung seems to handle colour and Anti-Aliasing better. Xiaomi have really trumped Samsung with their use of a larger/better sensor for their "Zoom Lens".

You can spoof metadata, you can use custom firmware to alter image output or generate files from another device that claims the same parameters. If the service is paid for by the company involved, or the review was made using a "loaned" or "gifted" device then you simply cannot trust the results that you see because people are & will be biased in one way or another. Very few people actually offer reliable sources for their content, such is the way of the fakenet & KZbin money horzzz sucking on that big fat Google dong.

They seem very evenly matched, but I lean slightly towards the Mi 10 Ultra in almost every scenario. The Mi 10 Ultra seems to have the usual launch bugs, such as blown out highlights in night mode. Many of their previous models suffered from the same issue and were fixed later on.

@@vervetech9395 I think that was the case for the Mi 10 Pro, which had 27 MP (6000 x 4500 pixels) from which is was upscaled from. The Mi10 Ultra has a different sensor that has a 48 MP readout mode (8000 x 6000 pixels), so it's real 8k.

Not in video you only stay on the same camera you can swap cameras once recording video. For stills it swaps.

I think you should do a video with latest update of s20 ultra vs note 20 ultra 1) Screen on battery better on s20ultra 2) optical 5x better on s20 ultra 3) 108 mpixel same on both phone 4) Night mode more detail on s20ultra 5) Screen better on the note 20 uultra 6) CpU BETTER on the note 20 ultra. 7）Fast charging better on S20ultra so basically except the screen and cpu other equipment on the note 20ultra have been downgraded for cost saving. That's why the note 20ultra is cheaper

The Mi is very impressive for the money, I like that the colours are more natural (especially skin tones) than the Samsung, the clarity of photo on both is close enough for me. Are you using either of these as your daily driver phone or will you at some point- which do you prefer overall?

Excellent comparison. Seems to be very little difference between flagship cameras from all the main Android manufacturers these days. If these were put up against the p40pro/pro+, Oneplus 8pro, and Oppo find x2pro, they may very well all too and fro. No one phone camera is likely to perform best in all situations. The gap seems to be narrower than it was a few years ago

Nice comparison, & i agree with your comments for the most part, very honest comparison. Xiaomi won on 8k video in the daytime, but I noticed in the night time 8k comparison the footage coming from the xiaomi was completely black, while I was able to see the footage from the Samsung even though it was noisy. Xiaomi also won on the zoom... But apart from those 2 aspects (zoom & daytime 8k) I think Samsung did better in all other aspects which would obviously make the Samsung the overall better camera. If you were using a point system to compare the Samsung would definitely ended up with the most points in the end based on your commentary & i agree... But not sure what happened there when you were doing the night time 8k comparison, the footage from the xiaomi was completely black & i didn't hear you mention that.
