Hi Geekyranjit, cheers for Indonesia, luckily we haven't YET see that kind of behavior, here in Indonesia, From my experience here, there are three types of stores : 1. Mi Store (official direct store) - most helpful without any upselling, except mobile operator staff. Try to sell postpaid plans. Buying times +- 10mins 2. Mi Authorized Store (3rd party, exclusive store) - quite nice, they try to upsell things, such as bigger ram or storage, higher model, acessor and damage insurance plans etc. But lately this practice dwindling down. Try to copy official stores. 3. Mi booth, at multi-brand stores, quite nice like no 2, but because of powerful brands, these staffs often bullied by other brands staff. 4. Fake no 1/2, they actually not fake by legal means, but staff-wise, quite the opposite, and they try to sell you what happened there, even scam you. Try contacting mi / poco global, they try to crackdown these practices. In past year, since Alvin came, service and selling practices are much improved. What i see, the selling practices that happen there, it is not possible, if the training not approved by execs of Mi India Cheers

As an ex owner of mi authorised store i can say that yes the stores do sell new models at premium or with compulsory accessories because MI company while billing 1 unit of new model will compulsory bill 3 units of old models and if the seller refuse to accept old models then he won’t get new model. To compensate himself from this loss due to monopolistic nature of MI company the seller is forced to resort to this type of activity. BTW love ur videos.👍

*PLZ read this Ranjit Sir* Never ever buy any Xiaomi device... I bought Mi TV 4A 2 years ago... And it stopped working 1 month back... So I called Xiaomi helpline number n kept following 2 weeks for getting my tv repaired... N finally on a fine a day 2 guys showed up at my house, they both didn't have I'd card.. even they borrowed screwdriver (tool to open the tv) they said they have forgotten at the last place they visited... So I gave them I they just looked at the TV for exactly 3 mins and they said sir iska power ka issue hai, mujhe 399₹ (visiting/service charge de do and 2-4 din baad sir ka call aayega tab vo part le k aaunga and uska 5500₹ hoga {your tv has power issue give us 399₹ for the service charge and post 2-4 days u will receive a call from our sir and then we will bring that part, which will cost you around 5500₹} So I thought of calling xiomi helpline number, instantly the first guy started telling that why are u calling them, u can speak to my sir, I said no let me speak to xiomi. And then xiomi said the technician hasn't assigned yet for ur case, then I came to know that these guys are fraud, and I don't know who shared my number with them, I think it's the call centre people's are doing this. And then I spoke to that guys sir as well, so that sir said he is official xiomi guy they have given us the contract etc etc.. he forgot his I'd etc etc.. I mean seriously ??? He even forgot his tools as well ???? And yes let me tell u I almost received 8-10 calls for the tv repair (they all were fraud calls) I have the call recordings as well.. and later that sir kept me calling that we will cancel ur request and ur tv won't be repaired... So I again called xiomi helpline almost 2-3 days later and they said sir u denied for the tv repair and I was like wtf when did I refused for the repairing?? So I explained all the story to that executive then I said I refused to that fraud guys (which u guys have confirmed that they don't belong to the xiomi when I called their helpline earlier, as the technician wasn't assigned) So is that the fraud guy u are talking about ?? That I refused for the service ?? And u mentioned that I don't want to repair my tv ??? Then xiomi helpline guy said we can't take ur request as you denied for the repair. He said u need to raise a request from ur end.. I mean seriously is that the way you guys give after sales service ?? To be honest at my home we have mi phones only... Even I used to suggest my friends and family for the same.. but now it's high time we should switch to other brands.. because this was the worst experience I had with any brand (which I never thought that I would have) And yes even after complaining so many times nobody bothered to contact me so that I can get my tv repaired.. and yes it's NOT YET REPAIRED* now even my family and friends are like why u bought MI TV ??? I hope someone from Xiomi will read this and will reply to this comment, so that I can get help. Will edit this comment if I get help.. until then I won't be recommending Xiomi/ Mi to anyone.. I have personally faced it twice in Mumbai Borivali Mi Authorized Stores. 1. I bought Redmi 4A for my mother for 6k whereas the price that time was 5k. I wanted the phone urgently. 2. Second time I have buy a Redmi Note 7 Pro for 500/- extra from an Mi Authorized Service Center. 3. My sister in law had to pay 1000/-Rs extra for Redmi Note 5/6 Series phone since she couldnt buy in the flash sale and it was her urgent need. Now I have decided to never buy Mi or Redmi Phones anymore. As per my experience they dont last for more than 2-2.5years which is less. Now my trust for Samsung has increased and I dont mind paying premium to them and buy it online. Already traded off in exchange my Wife's Redmi Note 7 Pro for Samsung Galaxy F62.

Finally, a product's success and a brand's growth are totally dependant on these very citizens, who are the retail customers in the marketing sense. Retail businesses will kill themselves sooner or later..its same with all electronic gadgets.. They'll quote you something and when you show thm online price they'll come up with lower price instantly.. Retail outlets giv you chance to look and feel the product but more often leaves bad taste when u encounter arrogance and neglegency of merchandiser and as you pointed the ripping off experience.. This is a similar issue to what we are seeing in the PC components market especially GPUs because of the silicon shortage as well as miners booming these days there is GPU shortage worldwide. Now the problem is a good amount of distributors are now holding these stocks of these GPUs and now selling them to retailers in a bundle with other components only (like Motherboards, Cabinets, coolers, etc. to clear the old stock). Now due to this GPUs are getting sold at crazy high prices like double and in some cases even more than that. Due to this, the old generations of cards are now getting sold like hotcakes at more than their MSRP when those were launched. Kindly look into this issue as well because I know if you speak up the larger audience will notice that and might compel brands to at least make a statement about this loot. PS. In India, there are not enough cryptocurrency miners who can make the shortage of GPUs and due to this, some evil distributors are holding these stocks.
