In the future I see Nvidia coming out with their own stick I have the tube I wish they would have made it a little bit smaller like the size of the TiVo 4K. So right now I don't got to spend no more money on devices. Happy with my Nvidia and Tivo 4k. No more Amazon products. So save your money player. You already got great devices. I was considering pre-ordering one of these as many new services, such as HBO Max and Peacock don't support Roku or Amazon Fire TV but I can't help think I should wait for the new Google made Android TV dongle coming very soon. It's Google's new take on their Chromecast but with full fledged Android TV running on it with better Google Home integration and for the first time with Chromecast, a remote. The price is comparable as well so it may be worth waiting.

I am mainly using Xiaomi products. I'm on my second Xiaomi phone, I have the latest TV box, and I have a Xiaomi router. I would love for the Mi TV stick to come out with at least 2gb ram at least. However, for the purpose of using it as a travel accessory, it might be good enough. As for primary application, such as the Mi TV box, I think one needs something with a bit more ram. Great extensive review though. I might purchase one in the near future.

I don't think that you can power this properly from a usb 2.0 port since it only supports up to 500ma. It's a 5W device, which means it needs 5V at 1A (supplied from the ac adaptor). Just something to think about since many people are complaining about a terribly laggy UI and random crashes which is most likely caused by underpowering the device.

@L.V. Legit actually when it comes to sideloading apps I find the Fire TV Stick easier because of apps like Apps2Fire which directly installs the apps for you too. I actually use the File Commander app on both devices to put files on them as well. Who really needs expandable storage on a portable device? Trust me I'm a big fan of Android TV and have the Shield TV 2019 but only cause I wanted Atmos on Netflix plus it was the fastest box out there. I have several Android TV boxes from the OG Nexus Player to Mi Boxes but TBH the Fire TV Stick 4K isn't so bad. It has the Apple TV+ app and run Prime Video natively which is a better experience then the Android TV app. All of this for only $25. I would've gotten more if I could of but it was only one per account 😁.

Actually you can almost.pretty much sideload to almost any device using app2fire I've actually use it to sideload apps to the tivo stream 4k and honestly love I don't like fire TV's home screen it's way to cluttered

Yes it does and it's reasonably good! Other than mirroring it has built-in Chromecast as well as other apps!

If you have ps4 you can download Netflix and youtube and some other apps there. Still I also have ps4 and this too. Ps4 is for games. And mi tv is for just casual watching. They said it's not powerful enough because people want to use this for games. For watching videos alone this is more than enough

This low spec device is so 2015. The fire TV Stick 4K and second gen Fire Stick at least have expandable storage through USB OTG. Does this device support OTG through the USB micro B connection? The ability to connect Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi on these style devices makes a difference against buffering. But 1gb of RAM and 8gb of system memory is weak sauce for mid 2020. Did I miss the discussion about casting with the device? Chromecast, or MiraCast?

For comparison sake, I just got the new TiVo Stream 4K which IMO is better than the Xiaomi Mi Box S I have but it too does not support the latest version of Hulu just yet. Oh all my Android TV devices, the only one that does support the new version of Hulu is the Nvidia Shield (newest version).

I can confirm, the app won't work with the remote. It just opens the app instead of remapping the button. I set up Accessibility too, without results.

Tried mapping the Netflix and prime button on mi box s remote. Not working with button mapper. Can you please check

It's not working on the two special buttons (Netflix and Live/Amazon) on Mi devices as these are not programmed as usual buttons on the remote and Button Mapper can't identify their input. TK should have verified if it worked before issuing a statement that it works just by analogy thinking is same type of remote to the one on nVdia Shield.

If you have ss smart tv Idk why you would need to buy a TV stick. These sticks are meant for old TV's with no smart capability to make your old TV into a Smart one.

Yes and no these TV sticks all for the opportunity of Android TV which can allow you to install uninstall update applications and you are not bound by what the TV manufacturer approves for you to watch. I realize that most Smart TVs have all of these applications but Android TV allows you to side load content as well as connect your own media
