Thanks for the video! In recent phones you have to remove a black cover to access the points. Remove the fex green and the silver screw and remove the black cover on the same area (Mi 9T Pro).

If TWRP does boot you can use it to flash a ROM package, for example Xiaomi.eu.

You need to unlock your bootloader first, otherwise it will refuse to flash the ROM.

Yes, but you need to short out different pins on the Plus version. Also, you cannot flash the Global Stable using this tutorial. You need to flash the China Stable in EDL, then unlock the bootloader from this firmware and afterwards you can flash whatever you want.

How do you know if your Redmi 5 is Chinese version? I bought mine in Rep. of Moldova and it had a global version of MIUI,but I'm not sure if it's not chinese ...

Check your firmware version and compare to the latest released version on en.miui.com. If there is a difference and you are not getting an update, you are running on a fake firmware.

Had the same issue. Try another USB cable. If you haven't used the original, use it. If it doesn't help, use a different PC. That's what fixed it for me.

Ok si I just flashed the original global rom (I have unlocked bootloader) but it showed me an error : UNSUPPORTED_TYPE something like that so i tried it again and i had the error "Cannot recieve hello packet". Now it does not recognize it anymore. Is there a way to end the EDL mode ?

Just flash it in fastboot mode using the Mi Flash Tool and a fast boot ROM for your device. No need for EDL mode if you have your bootloader unlocked.

No you can't. The unofficial ROM won't boot with a locked bootloader. You can only flash official firmware with EDL mode. Regarding your issue with unlocking the bootloader, please try using a Chinese VPN to bind your device.

In this case make sure you are running a firmware that your device is supposed to be shipped with by Xiaomi. No Shop ROM, no official Global ROM hacked onto a Chinese unit with locked bootloader. Also try different VPN providers.

And also I was able to update into MiUI 10 last night, I update it by downloading the rom from official Xiaomi sites. Now I'm running in MiUI 10 (before was MiUI 9) but the problem still there... I cannot bind the account and I cannot revoke authorization on any Xiaomi apps.

I also googling around and searching for solution in Xiaomi official forum, Some people have solution by flash it with Xiaomi Flash tool Beta in EDL mode to older rom and change certain text in rawprogram0.xml. But I don't know what this is..I don't know where to find rawprogram0.xml. (I'm not actually a gadget guy nor programmer) also this method works for Redmi 4 (if I'm not mistaken) but its not tested for Mi Max, So I not confident to apply it to my Mi Max. I want to flash it to custom rom because I want to get rid the ads.

If you purchased a real global phone with B20 LTE you can not flash the China ROM without unlocking the bootloader. It won't boot. To get your phone back running flash the global ROM in EDL mode.

So, i downloaded on my phone the update 9.5.7.0 because i hadn't recieved it, on the Xiaomi's update app i clicked the (...) and installed it on my own, i bricked the phone so i searched a tutorial and found yours which i haven t done yet. I didn't want to take any risks and ansked you which rom to download considering that i have a xiaomi redmi 5 bought on aliexpress with a global rom but i haven t checked if it was a real or fake global rom before i bricked it. so what do you think ? what should I do ? thanks a lot for your help and time you are saving my life !

If your phone does not appear you are not in EDL mode. The QDLoader entry has to appear in your device manager.

I don't get what your issue is. Your phone is turned off in EDL mode, so there can't be a storage mode. Your phone has to appear as a COM Port with QDLoader in its name in your device manager as shown in the video. Once this is the case, Mi Flash Tool will recognize your phone.

+maurice elderhorst Got the same when trying to flash with a VM. Used a real Windows machine then and it worked. So try another USB port or another computer.

You need the original firmware that your phone is supposed to be shipped with to unlock the bootloader. If your device is a Chinese model it needs the China ROM, if it's the Global model it needs the Global ROM.
