I compared Mi Band 8 Active & Redmi Watch 2 Lite for cycling. Each in the right & left hand. The results were much different for calories. Yesterday with a distance of 8.87km on the watch 2 lite it read 485kcal & on the 8 active 201kcal. This morning, another test with a distance of 12.83km on the watch 2 lite read 797 kcal, on the 8 active it read 499kcal. The walking test inside the house for several hours also shows the difference in kcal & number of steps between the two. 8 active always produces a lower value. For the sleep test, the number of hours of sleep differs by around 14 minutes, but the sleep quality graph in the app is quite different. Please enlighten me as to why there is such a big difference? Especially even though they are still in the same brand. How do we know which one is accurate? Or are both of them also false & just a gimmick?

There's another bug I experienced after wear it for more than a week. EVERY DAY when I sync the data, the sleep data couldn't be synced well. No problem for other data, but just for the sleep data. I must resync for many times, close & run Mi Fitness.

Perhaps it detects the walking through swaying? saw the arm you used the active band one, you walk while looking at it in 7:05. If it didn't sway perhaps it won't detect so it resulting in lesser steps and km 🤔

You may be right, but it may only have an effect for measuring heart rate. I don't think step and distance are counted incorrectly because of this.

I have returned it to a web shop, because the only thing I needed from that bracelet is to have swimming, I never thought it won't be there. I have a Garmin watch, but it is 4 years old, so I'm not sure if it would survive pool water so I bought this low budget bracelet just for this purpose...

I agree with you. We used a smartphone when we compared Xiaomi Smart Band 8 and Smart Band 8 Pro. However, neither the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 nor the Smart Band 8 Active have built-in GPS, so I don't think they measure distance accurately.

There's still no global band 8 NFC. There's such a version in China, but to my knowledge it doesn't support NFC payments. Neither in China or if imported.
