I'm using my band 4 till this date. Bought that back in 2019 and still I get 10-15 days of backup with sleep monitoring on, heart rate monitoring off. Changed the strap 9 times in the span of last 5 years. Xiaomi's band lineup has to be the second best product after their redmi note series smartphones.

Upgraded to Band 9 from Band 8 and to be honest - exactly the same. You won't notice those small changes, nor 16% HR sensor improvement

In my opinion, I do not see such significant improvements beyond different materials and textures, vibration motor (which for me were already good enough in previous generations), and an improvement in the processor, which even so I do not think is used more than with simple apps or the fluidity of 60hz. For me it would be a great advance when NFC can be used GLOBALLY without having to use or be limited to a type of Bank or that it is not only available in China, capable of some other simple GPS option without depending on the phone. Also be able to respond to text messages from any messaging app (something that the Mi Band 7 had but I don't know why it was removed in the next generation) and have a kind of integrated voice assistant or one that has integration with the phone. I know that the most advanced smartwatches with WearOS or those from Apple are already there for that, but the price does not compare with the Mi Band so it would be nice to have those functions in a cheaper device that does not need more advanced functions.

Finally the day has come that the Mi Band has a nice haptic motor instead of the buzzer!! This will be an instant buy when it becomes global! And also the wet hands thing is going to be great for when a notification comes when showering! Honestly this feels like the best mi band upgrade ever for me because these were the annoyances I always had.

bought this for my wife. looks good and nice display. what I'm missing (coming from amazfit gtr 4) is zepp user stats comparison and more detailed health tracking in app. also there's no app store in this so you're at mercy of xiaomi for updates and new features. but overall good watch for cheap price

very late this year, they presented a new version of the mi band. The eighth version was shown in March or April last year. I'm afraid that the ninth version will not come to Europe so quickly.

@@Sardar.Asad77 There is no such information anywhere about when a new version of Mi Band 9 will be released. Usually it was 2-3 months after the premiere of the Chinese version. Recently, the global version of Mi Band 8 was released 6 months after the Chinese premiere.

4:08 Yeah there's no app closing animation on the 8, I was baffled when I saw it cause there IS a closing app animation already on my Mi band 6... Btw this band 9 looks great, it really is a a shame they didn't bring the NFC version to EU. That would have been the final reason to upgrade, but now I'm skipping again 😢

This is the Chinese version, we wouldn't be able to test if Alexa is available. And for the vibration, simply put, it is much better, very intuitive.

Not a significant upgrade over the 8. I have had the 4, 6, 7 and now the 8. The 8 is OK but will only work with Mi Fitness which is not as good as Zepp Life. Also, the vitality score does not function properly. X|iaomi know this but have not fixed it. The next Mi Band needs built in GPS or maybe even onboard MP3 and the ability to connect to bluetooth headphones.

Wouldn't the ceramic version be more susceptible to breakage than aluminum?

Less susceptible to scratches, and bumps shouldn't break it still. So it will probably be more durable in regular use, compared to before, as it won't scratch that easily, but if you hit it hard enough, it might shatter, while aluminum would just bend.
