Actually, if you look into the Xiaomi 33w charger and it's accompanying cable, you will see an a connector that looks like USB 3 except that there is only a single pin/contact in the middle. That is Xiaomi Mi turbo charge's secret. That pin corresponds to the CC pin in the USB-C connector. That is why most cables that isn't from Xiaomi/Zmi/Baseus does not trigger 33w charging (btw the decimal point means it's charging in 33w). The only cables I've ran across that even supports Mi turbo charge is only Xiaomi original cable and Zmi 6A cables. I have no idea why are they still using this "hacked" method of achieving USB PD, but if they were to sell and adapter that converts the "hacked" USB A port to a standard USB-C port. Then we wouldn't have all this trouble.

Ok, so I have Xiaomi 11T. It supports 67W charging and it comes with the charger in the box. What I have notices is that if I use the original charger with the stock cable, the charging animation says "Charging Rapidly 67W Max". The cable itself is labeled "6A'. Now, I decided to buy another 3rd party 6A cable, and used it with the original 67W brick, the charging animation changed to "Turbo Charging" and I did notice significant increase in charging time. Then, I used another 5A cable, again 3rd party, and the charging then said "Quick Charging"; though this time, I did not notice significant increase in charging times (but yeah, I did notice). In the end, I used a normal $1 cable from Ali Express and then animation only said "Charging". Now, in all of these tests, same original 67W charger was used. My Conclusion: Different animations indeed mean different charging speeds and no matter what you do, the highest speed can only be attained by using stock proprietary Xiaomi Charging Brick AND stock Xiaomi cable. All other cables will not work as the Xiaomi one will even if the other cables support higher charging speeds too. Same is the case for Xiaomi 11T Pro (120W charging).

I've been using a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro for about 2 years now. Something that I've noticed is that when I use Xiaomis Turbo Charge (original charger + original cable) it seemingly charges fast but also the battery seems to drain pretty fast. Suppose I charge to 80% in just a few minutes of casual texting the percentage drops by 5-6%. Whereas when I charge it on Quick Charge mode (original charger + 3rd party cable) it myt not charge as fast, but if I charge to 80% it takes quite some time to drop 5-6% as it should. I doubt it they're faking the Turbo Charge by displaying a higher percentage whereas the phone doesn't really charge upto that percentage, & then drop the percentage rapidly in a few minutes to match the actual percentage of charge on the battery. Btw this isn't a one off observation, I've seen this behavior consistently.
@MitchellMillennial2 жыл бұрын
Actually, phone manufactures lie about the percentage the device is charged all the time. They do this to maintain battery health. Xiaomi knows that having t heir devices at 100% charge for a prolonged period of time isn't good for the battery chemistry. This has been kind of a well known secret for a while because apple does it. For sure your phone isn't telling you the actual battery percentage

@@khattaka96 I can't send you photos here but I can describe it. It's a black cable, braided design, 3 meters long with a red strip at either end of the cable with the word faster in the strip. I've had it for 2 years and it works just fine.

You can extend the original one with the type c female male extenders in example i bought asus Rog extender and know my cable is 2m or more than 2 with that extender and it still charging via turbo charging system.

Rip open the oroginal charger and cable and reverse engineer. If its just a voltage on a pin then easy to hack. If digital comms then not.

I never use fast charging because it quickly reduces the lifespan and capacity of the phone's battery. I use only a 1A charger and leave the phone to charge overnight.
@ChiekoGamers3 жыл бұрын
It's already 2021, and we still have stone age people like you who still believes that fast charging will quickly degrade the battery life.
@MitchellMillennial3 жыл бұрын
It does, a lot, if it didn't than companies wouldn't thermal throttle charging

Bruh phones and battery now are way smarter
@MitchellMillennial3 жыл бұрын
@@ANDROIDTECHIIES false, these phones are thermally limited. If you live in a hot climate and try to fast charge your device it will barely even trickle charge. Yes it's being thermally limited to not extensively damage the battery but it doesn't significantly change the fact that high heat and holding your phone at %80 charge for extended periods of time isn't good for the health of your battery. It's why I generally don't charge my phone's past 70% unless I'm going out.

@@MitchellMillennial is xiaomi phones worth buying now?
I believe the animation is a gimmick because it only tells if you are using an original xiaomi cable other than that they seem to charge at the same speed. If you use the original xiaomi cable with a fake charger the .?? animation won't show up also.
@MitchellMillennial3 жыл бұрын
as i said at the end of the video, the problem is that theres no official xiaomi cables or chargers, no way to know whether or not this animation is bullshit or if its only at 27w, remember xiaomi said the 27w charging was turbo charging before and now they changed it to 33w
@krayzie80402 жыл бұрын
@@MitchellMillennial 27w = mi turb charge 33w = mi hi-turbo charge with decimals

i think the charger must at least be 9v/3a for turbo charge.

This piss me off. Android are going the way of Apple, only own charger + own cable works. Just stick with USB QC/PD standards and keep Android open!
