xiaomify Great video, I got the Chuangmi now for about a month, and for the price it is great. The audio is not really good, but if you don't use it as a baby monitor you almost never need sound. The nightvision is very good, sometimes even sharper than daylight image. I think you underrated it a bit, considering I got it shipped for €13 (you get get it now for about €14). Also, the Xiaofang does not work outside of Asia, so that is not an option for US and Europe. Ps: The app is full of bugs, for example many times I can't connect on WiFi, but 4g works., don't know if it is because I'm in Europe, or because of the camera.

Man, I don't know how to say but.. This format and this channel are amazing. Xiaomi is one of the few chinese brands that make really good quality products at a correct price tag. I'm starting a cooperation with bangood, and I'm asking them for all the strangest Xiaomi products, like the umbrella and the shoes. I'm sure will find more of them in the future. I have 3 Mijia cameras and they work outside of China, very satisfied with them for the price. The Xiaofang I have I cannot update the firmware because if I do it will stop working outside mainland China.

Thanks for your comment! :) The Aqara has a 'built-in' gateway, so no need for another gateway as it actually IS a gateway. -So you can pair all the Aqara and Mi Zigbee-products to the camera. Hope that helps! :)

I bought my first Chuangmi Camera thanks to this review. It came with a little challenge - I had to be connected to 2,4 Ghz WLAN on my phone to make it work. The "Mainland China"-setting is not required anymore. I installed it on "Europe" as I already had my Roborock (vacuum) set on the same region. Just ordered two more of the Chuangmi's. 40€ here in Finland feels like nothing considering what function you get.

YES! It has been in the making for a while but Xiaomi has been dropping new cameras like clockwork so I constantly have to change that script .. So it will come in a little while but got a few videos that are more urgent (new products) but the all new camera comparison is very high on my list! Stay tuned!

Very well done, mate! Glad i found you months ago and it´s amazing to see the community growing, all the early adopters are really pushing Xiaomi with the english translations and custom firmwares as well to provide the best hardware and design for amazing prices. Good to see that the dafang camera scores so well compared to the others, it´s the only one i´ve got and now i won´t be even tempted to try the others, although could probably use the functionality of the Aqara one. It´s not a bluetooth gateway though, only wi-fi as i understand?

Yes, the Aqara only functions as a WiFi-Zigbee gateway (exactly like the regular Xiaomi and Aqara gateways) The Dafang is really a good choice so I can imagine you're glad you've got that! I gave my parents one when it just came out of the crowdfunding, and I'm glad I picked that one as well :)

Great professional quality review. I have not purchased the Xiaomi brand cameras yet but I have purchased 5 branded WYZE cameras which were probably Xiaomi cameras. They are excellent. I do not actually use them except in my garage. I use Windows camera software when using my iOS devices over the internet with Chrome Remote Desktop software. I am able to view all cameras on the same time. I am trying to find a Windows program for the Xiaomi cameras.

I have one of them and they work from anywhere. You can also set it to alarm (notification on the phone) once it detects movement. You can install an SD-card to scroll back in time.

Nobody answered you. I have the Chuangmi and I can watch a live feed on my phone from anywhere. With an SD-card you can "go back in time".

1 minutes is good if you mean motion recording, also because the others record much less usually do not exceed 15 seconds. If you want me to record more, maybe the only one is to create scenarios in mi home. Sorry for my english

Thanks, Antoine! As far as I know, the cameras or the APP won't send you a notification when its network gets lost. I have not seen this feature in the APP which could actually be quite interesting. (But seen from the technical aspect, my guess is that the APP constantly has to check if the camera is still online, which might be quite power-consuming...)

I need to mount the camera upside down on my ceiling and i was told that the screw bellow wont fit a regular CCTV camera wall support. so i found a universal bracket that has a base of 127mm x 104mm and i am thinking in using some 3m tape. my camera is on the way from aliexpress. thank you for your time.

Hi Yara, the base of the camera is 5cm. -I believe its screw size fits a small tripod. (1/4-20 UNC threads) Hope that helps

i just bought Xiaofang cube (the "winner" in this review). it has 4 IR beads, good contrast view under 10 feet only so i turn night-view off, prefer the normal view only. negative is frame rate only 10 fps (might be lower at night). it's almost impossible to see people face walking, and totally useless for bike passing on the street.

I had no problem installing it here; just a one-go thing... -but might give a try to help you out. What APP version are you installing it with, iOS or Android? -And assuming you have, but have to ask; is the APP's localization setting set to mainland China?

Hmm that is strange! I might trying to un-pair my cameras and get another Mi account to test this with a VPN. (Think that's the only way I can test that right now...) I'm going to Europe in not too long as well, will surely bring a few of these cameras to do some testing abroad at the time. But if you're stuck I could try to install it over VPN here, see what will happen.

Some cameras won't complete the initial setup if you're outside China. I had a similar problem with the Mijia 1080p and following a suggestion in a local forum I was able to solv it by doing the configuration while my phone was connected to a mobile 4G router. Tethering with another phone works as well. For some reason using these methods will allow the process not to get stuck at around 89%. However I also remember reading a lot of complaints about the Xiaofang specifically, it seems to be heavily region-locked.

Yes I actually wanted to put a disclaimer in the video because I knew these questions would come ;) But in this video, I'm only looking at the cameras that Xiaomi is selling and that work with the Mijia APP. I might be doing a comparison video of all the YI cameras sometimes, perhaps comparing them to all of the Xiaomi cameras.

Does any of these cameras work with no internet? Just the WiFi connection? I think all these cameras need to connect to the China server first before working. I was hoping if you could check if you can still view footages in the MiHome app even though you do not have an internet connection (But has wifi connection).

Hi Sas, thanks for your comment. -The APP has a 'security camera view' that shows you all of them above each other. -Out of the box they, unfortunately, can not be viewed on a laptop although I believe there are hacks on github that would allow you to do that (But have no experience with that myself though...) - Right now it only works with the Mi Home APP, but perhaps somewhere along the line they would make it more accessible (If they go for the international market)

Got 2 of the new aqara camera with me here in Portugal. Bought them right on the day and i have been using them for overna month now. I like them very.much. Only found a bud. After you connect both of them in the mijia app. The signal is the same, meaning i have to exit the app and get back in to see the camera. For now getting that mini live view of multiple camera its not possible.

Hi I have the 360 Cameras. I have set them up and notification works. My problem is the cameras are too sensitive and I am getting too many alarms / notifications. How do I reduce the sensitivity of the cameras. Note, I've already configured to the Low Sensitivity setting. Things like trees moving, vehicles passing in the street etc are causing alarms.

Hi! I bought a second unit of Dafang camera but I cant make it work, I get stuck during setup 'cause the cam does not read the qr code. I tried and tried, retried and nothing! I had no problems setting up the first unit some months ago and it still works. Now I removed it from my Mi account and tried to add it again and guess what... same problem. Both cams wont read the qr code. I need help.
