This scene made me realize Yongxheng was just a child, manipulated by his mama. He loves his little brothers and well, simply became excited to be the crown prince. And Imperial Concubine(Consort?) Jia- she was only taught to reach for highest. She loved her sons and wanted the best. It’s the villain and sweet touching woman. While her acts were awful, no one had taught her or helped her to have that innate love that Ruyi showed in this series. I also watched Yanxi Palace. And in that one, Ruyi was not as loving or kind. And Yinglou was more of the heroine. Either case, Concubine Jia, Concubine Gao were used. May they have reincarnated to families who treasured them.

Someone else explained in another clip the symbolism of the feather. In Chinese there's a saying: A person's death can be like the weight of a mountain or a feather. This shows the significance of Jia's death in the eyes of Ruyi, very light. P.S. I might have got the quote wrong but that's the shorter paraphrased version.

Said it right! People are always going to die, but the meaning of death is different, some are heavier than Mount Tai, some are lighter than the feathers of swan goose
Why would he give her a title after all the evil she did?

It shows respect to the dead inspite of bad actions done. The values comes from confucian philosopher named Manzu. He said that "Human are naturally born as good" which means people can gradually become evil due to the environment @@mariahardy1201

Well, this emperor felt sad only on his first Empress death. He did not love any other concubines. It's so sad of being concubine to this emperor. These royal ladies had pathetic life.

Consort Jia had 3 sons, the eldest Yongcheng died early at the age of 38 (22 years after Jia's death) but the second and third inherited Qianlong's longevity, they were prominent members of the imperial administration and lived well into their great nephew The Daoguang Emperor's reign
