1. Find clam. 2. Open clam safely by cutting the hing. 3. Remove ALL pearls (even if they are stuck to shell and cut up all the meat in clam. Pearls will be in sack to) 4. Place pearls on towel. One pearl at a time. Place on top of very finely ground salt mound. 5. Roll pearl in salt with fingers to clean off mucus while rinsing in bowl of warm water still gently rubbing off salt and mucus with gloves on with your fingers. DO NOT LET PEARL SIT IN WATER AT BOTTOM OF THE BOWL) 6. Rinse with clean water. 7. Dry individual pearl with dry soft cloth. Repeat for one pearl at a time. Note. Your fingers have natural oils that can make pearls less valuable. Pearl

I was going to comment that as well! But then I saw that she cut the chunk of meat to cook it so maybe there weren’t any in these? I’ve seen huge pearls come out of those big chunky parts of the meat though!
