Seeing this performance at a glance is like watching a dance performance in Java, Indonesia. From the costumes of the dancers and their movements, there are similarities to the costumes and movements of Javanese dances, unlike other Thai dance performances, such as the Ramayana, which immediately gives the image of Thailand. Is this really influenced by Javanese dance?

Yes, they are playing traditional Thai drama "Inao" or Java "Panji" in Javanese style. Inao or Paji is very popular in Thailand since Ayuthaya to Rattanakosin period. Princess Kunthon and Princess Mongkut, the daughter of King Borommagote of Ayuthaya, wrote the poetic manuscript "Inao" according to the story their Javanese Nanny told them. Inao played by all female performers in Siam Royal Court, called Lakon Nai. . After falling of Ayuthaya, the two princess became the capture in Burmese Royal Court. They taught the Buemese played Inao. Inao was translate into Burmese language for easier to understand among Burmese. In Siam, The poetic manuscript lost during fall of Ayuthaya. The Thai still impressed Inao, the very romantic story. King Rama II rewrite again and was played by all female performer in Siam Royal Court. Inao now a days play both male and female outside the royal court. There are two style of Inao costumes, traditional Thai style and Java style. Traditional Thai style costumes are similar to Thai Ramayana costumes, and Java style are similar to the costumes played in this clip.
