To think this guy is the most despicable and horrible and hated antagonist in literally any Hoyoverse game, *and in his last few moments I actually shed tears for him and was glad to see him finally accomplish his goal...* That just goes to show how God Tier amazing Otto's writing and story is. *R.I.P. Hoyoverse's Best Antagonist.*

He may be a villain…. But I cosplayed him at an event out of respect. Sure he is despicable and caused many pain and suffering, but I can relate to him. I don’t see him as a villain anymore, but a man on a mission for his loved one. R.I.P Lord Otto Apocalypse, Great Leader of Schicksal

I don't think "justify" is the right word. It's more of "understanding". We don't forgive what he has done, but if we're in the same position as Otto, a lot of us would do the same as him.

I have a theory. Since he isn’t dead in star rail, could it be possible the Luocha we are playing as right now is some sort of clone or just not his real body? He says he’s only met the person in the coffin once, and you only have one life. This might not be true, but he definitely has something up his sleeve.

The only known entity that crossed from Honkai Impact 3rd to Honkai Star Rail are Welt Yang and VA (Void Archive). Although at the point of crossing VA borrowed Otto's appearance. So no, our old Otto is no more. The Luocha we knew is a different person. At least this is based on everything we knew so far

I mean... Hoyoverse more like Honkaiverse. Working theory in community - it is all just parallel universes this is why people look same but also they are not who they were in other worlds.

okay i keep hearing honkia impact players reference this otto. can someone explain the lore related to him cause i do play star rail but wasn't able to enjoy honkai impact's gameplay which means i haven't played it.

So basically otto loves kallen which was his childhood friend (everybody made fun of him when he was still a child, even his own family), and theres where kallen encourage him that one day he will become a good inventor, and he did created an antidote for black death, otto thought that humans are cruel and kallen is the only way to save humanity, but in the end kallen ended up getting killed by a honkai beast when protecting him (also she got no feelings for him since she's a lesbian and otto got cucked by yae sakura) so he got through 500 years of struggle (where he went madness) just to get kallen back and he ended up sacrificing himself to the imaginary tree and creating a timeline where kallen could live but he couldn't get to meet her in the first place

That's why he is the best villain in honkai verse even though he's so cruel (arguably the worst villain in honkai as he used humans for his experiments), but he got through a tragic and deep past
