You find an old audio cassette tape in a box labeled "for free", on side a of the casette you see a beautiful deity like depiction of a girl floating in a seductive pose, smiling like a maniac with glowing blue eyes and black hair that curled around her face, above her hand is a shiny cyan crystal floating, surrounded by glitter that seems to be so thin that it floats arround in the air in a chaotic circular shape, no words not even a letter or a number or any sign of writing anything other than the molded in "A" and "B" side indication, and another picture that looks similar only the girl has different facial features, red eyes and white hair that gently embraces her in a chaos like waves crashing against a clif. You look closer unable to understand what she is holding at first, because you never expected to see a luminous version of that stereotypical item, but it seems like she is telecineticly channeling a pocket mirror that might have some cool hidden features but the angle at which it floats only leaves speculations of the mysterious powers of the pocket mirror. You decide to take the audio tape home and remember your old tape player in the attic that had cassette tape and other all in one features people used to casually brag about, you pop it in carefully, noticing the satisfying haptic feedback making you low key associate it with loading a dangerous weapon carefully to not activate any sensitive explosives or mechanical parts prematurely, as you blink you realize its quite the opposite, as you where hoping to preserve the machine and the cartridge for a while longer, as you carefully push down the mechanically resisting play button, you feel the haptics while it gives off that satisfying click noise, like you just triggered a very cinematic vintage time bomb. The small transparent window that usually displays the tape status strangely begins to glow magenta, as your fight or flight response activates all the muscles on your back so you are about to unplug the whole thing thinking you might short circuited it, suddenly you hear a feeling you have been longing for, to call it a melody fells like uttering an insult. Some deity might as well just snuck up behind you with a giant hammer that gives everyone a massive dose of nostalgia as a status effect instead of making damage when hitting. You feel like you want to share this, but the world has long grown out of being nostalgic to that era, you feel like you have to chat with a young lady next to you at a bar in neonlights wearing sunglasses excessively, or build a mecha suit in your garage to save the world from an asteroid and many other things suddenly pop up in your mind, but as you look up, your casette player has begun shapeshifting mechanically, first all the screws fell out like some ghost is trying to disassemble it, then the parts break off from one another with a *clank* like someone just threw a bunch of legos in the air as a bunch of white and black hair explodes out of the player throwing the smallest parts the furthest away. As you gradually adjust to all these sudden events, your eyes cannot believe the complex supreme patterns and combinations all these photons are hitting your retina with... 😮 Edit: "Who has disturbed my SLUMBER" is the first thing you can hear, a voice of a supposedly young hysterical chain-smoker lady uttering through the smoke and the mysterious cyan and pastel pink lights that flicker like upside down candles, you want to leave considering all the weird shit that was already happening but then you hear a soft almost girly voice say "calm down sis fifteen years on a shelf was nothing, last time I checked we had a timeout of four i think centuries it was called?" Your curiosity got so hungry it straight up swallowed your fears like a frog would catch a fly, You can hear the two argue for a while... "But you have to admit back then, when we were trying purple passion catnip that you wanted me to try so bad in a forest, i told you that day if we ever get betrayed like that again and somebody else finds us after a while I want to see their face when I say that! It's not a big surprise anymore if you are all honest and nice right away, thats how we got exploited all over again..." the smoke has been clearing up alot and the creepy lights don't seem to be as creepy as they were, you notice one of them near your feet, seeing the pink flame eat away at a chaotic structure with wires hanging out of it seems to explain itself well enough in your head to paint a better picture of why they were flickering in the first place, as plastic makes the flame flicker as it melts to drip away 🫠. Something tells you to stay, while everything in your body just wants to run, the power displayed still pumps you with fresh adrenaline, as a white shape suddenly rushes through the potentially poisonous smoke that is slowly mixing with the air humidity " it's nice to have a chat after a while, but you know what it means if we can talk again at all..." you hear a confident Chuckle from the smoker " that means someone has activated our lamp..." as two glowing pairs of eyes, one pink and one in blue suddenly light up like ancient neon lights with warm up flicker you can hear the other talk in a jokingly cute voice " where are you? We have a lot to talk talk about if you know what I mean " the voice utters as the blue pair of eyes become two narrow slits that bend upward just making it more mysterious what all this talk talk might be about...
