thanks fellas! hot tip, you can drag a groove from the groove pool into a midi track to see how exactly the notes are shifted in time. the MPC swing is just "every other 16th shifted back", and the MPC had this same feature. it didn't have any inherent swing in the sequencer, just "quantized or not" and "amount of swing". and another pedantic "aktchully": hip hop snare often sounds early because the -hats- are late. the kick is just swung. late hats is some spicy tasty business

When you choose to swing elements do you try to stay consistent with your choice of swing across an entire track?
