I also stopped flicking up MCU figs a while back but did end up grabbing nearly all the same ones as you listed here with nearly the same gripes. Hasbro does so much to let us down but when they really try they do very awesome work.

Finally someone who agrees that despite some flaws, the friendly neighbourhood Spiderman ( Retro Pack) is actually a good figure and deserves some praise. The moment I saw it in hand, a different emotion and nostalgia hit!! ❤️🔥 For sure it will be on my top ten list for this year.

I actually bought tom today i didnt want him at first because my excitement got killed from seeing all of the posts of him breaking but i was like " hey worth a shot this figure could be amazing " and when i got him opened him HE WAS TIGHT AS HELL i ran under him hot water for 30 seconds then ran him back into cold water so it can be locked up but not tight or gummy and man when i got them joints freed he quickly went into my top 10 figure of the year

Good list. These are definetly one of my favorites for ML. But doesn't matter if comic or not Raimi Spider-man is my #1 of this year. Still giving me nostalgia vibes, he looks well almost perfect because of the shoulders, but it's still covered by beautiful sculpt, paint, and how they captured him. I LOVE THIS FIGURE. GG is the second one, very close to spidey but it's not the Iconic suit we all know. Even tho it's hard to pose him on the glider I still managed to make some cool poses IMO. Really strong relase. Wonder how raimi ock would turned out tho sandman is underrated IMO. Maybe his articulation in torso is not the best, but definetly the worst. Likeness of Thomas Haden Church is spot on. All new sculpture, and fact that you can swap these BIG OPENED sand hands into a retro one is cool. 97 wolvie I can agree he is the best of all time, actually what is funny for me, the sculpted hair on his arms look much more realistic. And I saw this on your video so I'm not mad, and his unmasked head is the highlight for me. PERFECT LOGAN HEAD. BUT..... My vhs one still will be my favorite subjectively. Just because the shading is making him stand out, I like the bright blue much more, and angry face with grinning teeth, this is my perfect wolverine. Still wanted the newer one cause first: There is never enough if it comes to wolverine figures and second: This one can be as Unmasked version or the TAS ONE. Garlfied spidey and final swing suit are one of the bests like not the best movie spidey figures, but well..... They didn't have this Nostalgia vibe and magic Tobey had given. And Andrew's suit for me should be a little more brighter but still he is very badass, and same can be said for Holland's he is pretty much perfect and can be used as comic book one. The best Holland spidey. I wish they could have give upgraded suits on this bodymold. Red and black, Stark Suit or homemade. Tracksuit mafia it's definetly cool army builder but didn't appear on my list. VHS doc ock is something I didn't knew I wanted but now this is one of my favorites in my entire collection. Still thinking should I heat up the holes on 2pack one to fit these tentacles and hoping not to ruin the figure. Smythe is a dope one but..... Never had big attachment to this villain. Green goblin is the cool one, even tho bodymold is outdated, he doesn't have fists or zapping fingers. The head is PERFECT. And at now he is the best comic green goblin of hasbro Marvel legends for me. Carnage was complete dissappointment because of lack of black paint, nothing else to add. But to mention others that didn't appear on your list: Gladiator hulk is a cool rerelase with better heads and more accessories and even and his age this is a good figure, because of the articulation and sculpture. Gamerverse peter parker even tho he is not accurate. I'm happy we did get him this way. RyV bodyomold is still cool to pose, Red and blue are different and outstanding to make him pop of the shelf next to other spidey's. The only downside which really bothers me is no complete sets of hands. and 97 gambit, nothing new except the head, but still cool one to pose, fun accessories and my favorite version if it comes to painting.

Great list! Really awesome how you emphasise that it's your list and your own personal preferences influencing your pics, you hit a good balance between that and looking at more objective points. I've been pickier with Legends this year, so far just got five non-comic figures but I like all of them. 5. The Across the Spider-Verse Spot I really like, sure he looks awkward but that's film accurate, he pulls off simple casual/emotive poses pretty well and given what we see him do in the film he fits in anywhere in the display. 4. The X-Men '97 Magneto isn't perfect, but it's SO much better than the prior Love Triangle release. I had that figure on a flight stand at the back of the X-villains display, the new one I'm glad to have front and centre, in fact I keep forgetting he's not a comic figure. 3. The MCU Hawkeye series Kingpin I really like, not super dynamic and I know some people don't like his size, but man his likeness is so good and I'm glad to finally have a D'Onofrio Kingpin on the shelf alongside other live-action Spider-Man villains, sure he's never met him but he still looks great with those guys. 2. About a week ago the No Way Home Doc Ock released here in the UK, not much of a super dynamic poseable figure itself since it's the usual guy in plastic trench coat problems, but man the arms give him so much presence. Having him be able to actually balance on just the two lower arms so he's towering over the other figures on the shelf is awesome, he's been up for about a week and hasn't fallen once. It's been a good year for Otto between that and the animated release, can't wait to see it get a wider release for other collectors next year. 1. However my top pick is the No Way Home Green Goblin. I don't like the glider stand and for me the detents in his ankles and upper legs are a bit awkward when trying to just stand him normally, but that's it for major issues for me. Like You said he draws your eye every time you look at the shelf, and just seeing him alongside other MCU Spider-Man villains like Doc Ock, the Vulture and Mysterio is awesome, as much as I love the Dafoe head the masked look surprised me as my preferred display option. Right now having that villains display has me really tempted to pick up Sandman, and as much as I'd like the trio of Spider-Men the villains were higher on my want list. Currently those three have been hard to find online, but I was hoping to see them in person either way before picking them up for things like eye paint on the masks etc.

GREAT lost, XMany! Boy, the Trracksuit Mafia is pissing me off. I ordered a bunch from Target on Day 1, and then "approved a shipping delay" about 15 times before Target finally just cancelled the order. Bastards! So now I have a pre-order in with BBTS (fingers crossed!). I have a question for you about them. I have lots of random heads in a bin from scores of other Marvel Legends figs. Do you think some of them will fit on the Tracksuit buck? If so, I can more easily army-build them without having lots of them looking like identical twins. What do you think? Finally someone appreciates Animated Doc Ock for what he is. It nailed the appearance perfectly. And i lost a ton of respect for Anthonyscustoms for blatantly lying about not being able to stand him on his tentacles. He didnt even attempt to fidget it or pose it. Some reviewers said the tentacles wouldn't push in but its cause you have to TWIST them in to get them locked. The waist rocker is also EXTREMELY generous and goes pretty far forward and back when hasbro could have easily just made it a swivel. And the fact he can fit in a comic display due to being so accurate is the cherry on top. I skipped out on the Alfred Molina NWH figure just cause im so happy with this animated one. Imo this Doc Ock doesnt have to be done again, only rereleased on retro card with minor improvements like ratchet sockets and plugs

Actually, I have a second question. I bought the Spidey Animated Doc Ock for one reason only: to use the bendy tentacles on my comics-version Doc Ock. Hasbro says that they are back compatible, and you show them attached to the old Doc Ock in this video, but for the life of me, I could NOT get them to attach and stay on. It seems as if the pins on the tentacles are way too long for the holes on Doc Ock's back. How on Earth did you get them to attach and sink in so deeply and tightly? I tried heat, I tried some modest force, and no dice. What's your secret?!?

The NWH Goblin is definitely in top ten but I just lump him into all Marvel Legends. Same with Animated Ock. Non Comic? I like the NWH Spideys. I like Cassie BAF. I like her more as she fits my quirky Ant Man family. Same with Bill Foster D+ figure as I swap on Luis’s head. He finally got his super suit. Uhm Smythe is great. MJ and Pete are cool with Aunt May. I can’t think of others that blow me away. The suited body for Murdock is awesome for the NWH lawyer but the head sculpt isn’t singing Charlie Cox for me. Oh I do love the Track Suits but I had to pay eBay to get them for double price. I’d like two more. I haven’t got movie Ock yet but I’m sure he’ll be top five for me. He’s my favorite rogue and Molina is awesome.

My Doc Ock’s tentacles would not stay in. My Silk 2 Pack tentacles fit and that Doc Ock would keep the bendy ones in. I had to switch them. That bummed me out about a figure I was very excited to get.

14:16 hmmmm... if the retro deluxe ironman with *_PROTON CANNON_* could be considered MSH/MvC2 video game rather than comic, then couldn't *Spiral* be considered CotA/MvC2, or even animated, rather than comic version? 🤔🧐

Well, both those looks originated from the comics. The vintage line still had characters made from the comics that never showed up in cartoons. It’s weird because even the new retro line like the Spider-Man one that had the Spidey mark 1 armor was based off the Gamerverse look as it had all the textures and style from the game over the cartoon or comic. That didn’t have a Gamerverse label nor a VHS line label. For me, I just determine what the source material is for me upon close inspection and that’s where I judge the category it qualifies in. Regardless, I got those figures (Spiral & Iron Man) in 2022 so they were on my list last year. I put Spiral in the comics category and Iron Man in my repaints category since I don’t like to include repaints from figures I already had on lists prior so it doesn’t look repetitive. With that said, great question as that had me thinking lol

@@Xmanny87 yeah, I pre-ordered them the day they became available after the pulse livestream, but I don't think I got them in hand until the following year (2023). It might've been because I initially thought they were all pulse exclusives, and then when EE & target had them up, I was able to use an EE coupon for a free black series fig if spending over $59 or $69bucks, so I made multiple orders (each as close over the threshold as possible) and canceled the pulse ones. As for categorizing video game or comic, I suppose I think *_intention._* Other than the sucky blast effect, it's clear that "proton cannon ironman" was intended to homage the Capcom fighting game appearances. I personally wanted a newer Spiral for my CotA roster and knew them announcing the fig would dramatically drop down the price of her older variant color scheme to be significantly under the $80-$100 pricepoint it was being resold as. ...another note I'll mention is despite how great articulation on certain recent Spider-Man figs are, it's hard to replicate some of the poses from those MvC2-esque games... I mean, even think his starting stance... therefore until they do a figure that can match/exceed those Capcom poses, there'll always be room for improvement. 🙂 Nice convo though, as it's pronpted me to think about makeshift accessories that could replicate the videogame special effects and be used for displaying. Like, I recently got a package that used bubblewrap that was more, long mini air tube shaped (like smaller, thinner versions of the freezable icy snacks), and perhaps rolling that tubed bubble wrap could suffice as an actual proton blast... now off to try and find that package to see how viable the options are. 😏
