Mega Man X6: Saber Only! (Xtreme Mode) Full Game

This is a challenge walkthrough with attack restrictions
Unarmored X is used almost all the time except for the second encounter vs High Max
wich requires the upgrade saber of shador armor.
So is neccesary reach the 4 capsules, Fortunately, in this title it is possible to do it using a saber glitch with "saber-weapon cancel". with it is possible reach long-air distances.
This also helps to get amazon sub-tank needed to absorb enough damage to not die quickly in extreme mode.
A no damage run is possible but it requires too much camping.
Central museum level becomes 6 times longer and boring to watch.
maybe another small exception with the shadow armor there would be a good idea.
Gate lab 1 clearly requires 2 attachments to pass the spike section with unarmored x,
jumper and Ice Burst, decided to use them instead shadow armor because the Nightmare mother
boss becomes a bit trivial with Giga attack Available.

The saber is actually pretty powerful in this game and once you get the Shadow armor you can tank the bosses with ease. The only problem comes in Gate’s lab when you need the jumper parts and hyper dash just to get past “the leap of faith” 1:04:52

you can get past that gap, you just need a very precise wall jump alongside the giga crash and some very precise charge slashes to stall your decent

​@@nothing-2luozI think it was a clean ninja edit, because X w/ normal Saber can't touch High Max at all. Magma Blade technically is a Saber-like that can hurt him, but it also a Special Weapon, which is not eligible for the sake of the challenge. That's what I think.

I tried a run like take time ago and was really fun to try, so ofc I enjoyed watching your video. Never thought about using the saber glitch to jump like that. I really like X6 but damn that the saber (among other things) was such waste of potential. They could have implemented the lvl up system from MMZ and let X improve with it with enough usage

Except of course where the game forces mandatory use of some extras, intro stage, high max, etc. I've seen it done once, but you always put on a good show so I'd like to see it on this channel. What do you think? It's a huge amount of work for sure, but very achievable for a maverick hunting pro such as yourself.

There was so much cooler stuff they could've done with X being able to use the Z Saber instead of just the clunky third slash animation. Imagine if this game actually served as a prototype for how the early MMZ games would work. X starts off with not really knowing how to use the Z Saber but as he uses it more he can do a triple slash like Zero used to as well as being able to charge it like his buster and even learning how to do what would normally be Zero's boss moves. Woulda been really cool to see that version of the game.
