excellent content AJ as is your norm....... I'm picking up my Xmaxx this week from my local hobby shop (always support the local shops) and I've spent alot of time doing pre-delivery research on the RC to give me a head start on things in general that inherently come with this RC when you first get it..... fortunately ....there are guys like yourself that have a way of explaining things that even guys like myself .... with just enough knowledge that can get me into trouble ..... can understand and relate to.....It's my intention to run the truck box stock for 10 battery packs before I start with any upgrades or changes to the model......Ive been a subscriber to your channel for quite a while now and when I come across any problems with an of my RCs ...... you're one of the first places I go to......Thank You for what you bring to us in our hobby !

It's great to hear we are helping; that's what the channel is based upon. As far as you new rig goes, I hope it runs out good for you. We sure love ours here. You'll see right away what the weak points are and I suggest following the Xmaxx upgrade video to minimize the inherent weaknesses. It is a great rig, but not perfect. Please let us know how yours runs out. Thanks for being part of our community. AJ

That’s strange? Well not that strange. My original xMaxx never broke one. I do wd40 everything often. But great how to! I have an Xmaxx on the bench as we speak! I tore it down to reconfigure it. Great that you show people this. I even look up how to’s gotta have them! Thanks AJ!!!!🙏👏👍💯

I always try to be helpful. I'm planning a WD40 video as we speak. I've been working on the idea for a while now. How long does the WD40 last on parts? You know, swing arms and steering links. I haven't started the tests yet, but in a day or two the filming begins. Your input would be very helpful. Thanks for always being there, Speed. 😎👍

This Hot Racing part has no flex - so the hole force of an impact comes to the Bell Crank and destroyes it.

We are aware of this issue and don't mind replacing the bell crank set; it's easy to do. The stock bell crank setup lasts longer than the stock steering links to the hub assembly, which break way more often. That said, there are upgrades to the bell crank set which we could use, but we haven't installed them yet. Thanks for the concern. 😎👍

@@AJJAMStudios Replace that bellcrank with aluminum while keeping those HR aluminum links and the next place to break will be the bulkhead. More specifically the hollow pin support area the bellcrank sits on (fixed with hot glue and a screw ala KevT). IMO either leave that system all stock or just upgrade the bellcrank and support to aluminum. I have an aluminum bellcrank+support and aluminum hubs. I leave the steering links plastic as the weak spot. I've only had to replace one in a year of bashing ($4 fix) and did it in 5min while still at the bash location. The other parts are not so easy to fix on location even if one were to carry that part with them. But to each their own.

We all pick/create the weak/strong spots on our rigs, even if we're not doing it knowingly. That said I don't understand the logic behind having HR aluminum steering links + a plastic bellcrank? The bellcrank is more expensive (3x what a single steering link costs) and is much harder to fix. The arm is cheap and easy to fix. Call me crazy but I'd be upgrading the bellcrank and it's support to aluminum and leaving those steering links plastic so they would break first instead of the more expensive/harder to fix pieces (including the bulkhead if we had an aluminum bellcrank AND steering links). I'd rather spend $4 (Pack of 2 = $8) to repair a steering link at the bash vs having to go home and replace the bellcrank or worse. Smart builds focus breakage to the arm areas and keep those parts on hand for quick repairs. Not every aluminum part is an "upgrade" in reality.

That is a great point. Thank you for reminding us of how it should be done. We’ll try something different and see if it works the way we think it will. Thanks for participating in the channel 😎👍

Would you recommend aluminum bell crank or tie rod links or both? Trying make my Xmaxx steer better.
