I hit elder god with kenshi season 1 and 2. If any of yall are interested in playing him, I recommend you learn his basic bnbs into sento, and then learn overhead/low bnbs in sento sandwich. From there, learn how to pressure with him better when you have sento out but no sandwich. The best kameo for beginners is sub zero because you can whiff punish into sento easier and you can create your vortex from an anti air. He’s not hard but requires some practice

Nah she's good but offline or against people who know the match up she has a hard time opening people up all her moves have easy counters If you lab em especially since almost all her good buttons are highs. Plus her terrible zoning tools means if you land the 1st hit, just run and neutral duck, and you'll probably end up opening her up again

Great guide! I wonder if it's possible to get something like how to counter chars but not on framedata level but something you learn while ypu play or lab. For example if kenshi in sandwich wants to combo with overhead they need to delay a bit, and you can use that to react with poke. Or when sento does s2 there is gap in between I have discovered stuff like that after like 4 months after game was released and was losing to every single kenshi before.

Even in sento stance if you make a hard read and upblock the back 2 overhead even in a sandwich you can punish full combo just have to be quick

I love playing kenshi in mk1, he's very strong for sure but I feel like the calls to nerf him are unnecessary. He's still punishable and not everyone can just pick up kenshi and learn him immediately like other top tier characters such as Johnny or homelander who are a lot easier to pick up and are both better than him, I really hope that his ronin skin from mkx or some other classic skin comes to mk1 for him

man, when kenshi puts you in a sanduiche you are literally dead, Homelander at least can be punished if he whiffs on delay wake up. When you guess right against kenshi, you still has to guess, and is a lot of damage. This character is as strong as homelander and johnny

@@JosephDGuedeskenshi just isn't a character that uses meter really, he can get up to 51% meterless but with all the micro adjustments in the combo it's very hard to connect consistently online along with adding mk1 servers being unpredictable. He's a lot more punishable than people think, when sento is out and you're in a sandwich then yeah you have basically no hope but if you can keep a kenshi in his normal stance then he's pretty easy to counter from pretty bad starting strings like f22 being a slow string and stand 14 starts high and is punishable, you can also just zone kenshi out easily (if sub armor isn't available) because his projectile doesn't connect if you jump and disappears when he's hit. These are just my problems from playing as him for a while

Geras: don't mind me. Just gonna stand there and keep looking awesome... Jokes aside Kenshi really isn't that hard or complex. The gameplan is just go into Sento and you pick the kameo according to the matchup to get sento out the most. From there it's just 50/50's and armor baits. And his execution is honestly not that hard coming from a former kenshi main. Once you master controlling sento, his optimal routes are not that hard. They're not easy but they aren't too hard either. Honestly a much harder character to play is Geras who is the most complex by far( Clone setups and combos, Staggers, Anti airs, spacing, conditioning, timing the one bar breaker, and more...) while also having major flaws that you need to play around. Noob Saibot who has the most strict execution requirements by far for combos and also Has some very unique set play. And I can't think of more from the top of my head And Kenshi definitely doesn't need nerfs. He makes up for Sento being insane by being extremely mid outside of sento and being absolute trash in Sento when the puppet runs out

He's definitely very difficult if you want to be optimal with him from sento micro adjustments but if you can pull it off you can get up to 51% meterless and then you have a sandwich immediately after for another 30-40% if you connect. But with his normal stance and sento stance without sento being a lot weaker makes him very strong but still a fair matchup if you know how to play against him

This skin specifically is in the story expansion. Towers of time has been giving out other palettes for the story skins though just they won't be the original colours

He definitely has some very difficult matchups. Most of the time it's zoners for me because his projectile isn't great since it disappears if kenshi is hit before it connects and also just characters with fast buttons because kenshi has some slow starters in his normal stance and his best starter of 14 starts high and can be armored through, but if you can connect a string then you are almost always getting 40% or more if you hit your combo and then you got sandwich pressure immediately after
