Hi ppl, I got one too. I have a durability concern about the telescopic tube lever clamp mechanism, I saw a guy whom broke it off when he fell since it sticks out so conveniently. Do you think this telescopic steering tube can easily break if you let scooter free fall on the pavement during the ride? Anyways I am thinking to get some kind of thick beefy removable foam sleeve/guard to put around the lever. Also the rear fender, I noticed a 4x2 cm fabric material attached/glued to the fender's bottom part under the plastic hood on that spot where the break touches the wheel. Is it some packaging fabric from the factory or that fabric is an actual breaking pad part? I thought that Xootr rear breaking surfaces are wheel resin VS pure aluminum fender. Also, wtf about the front break - I scooted in the room, breaking only with the front break barely slows it down while putting tremendous pressure on the hand lever spring and the cable, do you consider the front break as an effective measure? I mean it's a smooth aluminum surface VS smooth resin surface, how much friction can you even expect from these non-abrasive surfaces? I read some ppl took it off, but Xootr officials claim that front wheel breaking stopping power is essential for an effective system.

u @D.2023 as you write, it's not suited for you, Magnesium is like graphite, it breaks. Get aluminium or better a steel one. Best is one in steele and you can jump and bash it and wtf you wanna need it for.

@@thevintagehifiambassador8524 Damn - thanks for heads up. As I understand, the Xootr base is same for all models right? It's just the boards screwed with bolts are different. So if i break this magnesium - I can just buy a replacement Xootr board of other metal - right? I kinda hate that false adverticemnt - i thought magnesium would be stronger than aluminum. But if i can interchange boards - then no biggie. I test rode 2h today. It is bumby but it worked as intended - good workout.

Awesome. I have an original Nova Cruz Xootr from 1999. I wish there were video of the smile on my face when I rode it for the first time.

I've ridden several Xootrs in the past. For myself and many other riders, the handlebars are too narrow, at 12.6 inches wide. The narrow handlebars make the Xootr twitchy and unstable at high speeds. In contrast, my current Oxelo Town 9 scooter has 20 inch wide handlebars, creating a far more comfortable and stable ride. Other scooters have 17 inch wide handlebars. Xootr's advantage over other scooters is legendary, especially with their speedy wheels. Unfortunately, the principal designer has passed away and innovation has ground to a halt. There isn't an easy way to replace Xootr handlebars with aftermarket bars as Xootr bars were engineered specifically for their scooters. This leaves us with handlebar extensions and grips to make the handlebar wider. What solutions has the kick scooter community come up with to address this problem? Are there any handlebar extensions or grips that will make the bars wider? Please share your thoughts.

Though the wide deck looks nice and comfortable it seems like it would make it a pain to carry and set places when I take the bus or put in shopping cart at store.

Why oh why would they make a plastic foot break.
@jmarine19332 жыл бұрын
They ride like an over-priced shopping cart. We have several push scooters and the Xootr has the worst ride out of all of them. Our Razor A5 and A6 scooters glide better than the Xootr and they handle better too! Oh, and they’re a whole lot cheaper! Just because it’s made in the USA and is expensive doesn’t mean it’s better. We’ve put hundreds of miles on our other scooters with 100% reliability. The Xootr has remained in it’s box ever since the front brake got clogged with pine needles and almost put my wife in the emergency room!

How about the micro scooter? It's the only rival against the A6 that i've come across.
