Well if you have it that way your seat can unfold. Not that you wouldnt have it strapped up. But its meant to hang down so it stays closed and keeps the weight centered instead of top heavy. In the grand scheme, it doesnt really matter. You are just the 1st ive seen carry them that way. Best of luck this year!
