Got this pedal recently and have gotten to know it thru about 30 gigs. Can't live without it now! I play in a country band - typically clean/slightly overdriven at reasonable volumes. This pedal breathes live and tonal character into my rig at very subtle "near transparent" settings. I keep it "on" about 75% of the time with low drive and a slight treble kick. Cleans up great with a slight guitar volume roll-off. Works great with other pedals. What a great tone weaponl!!!

I pulled up this video and wasn't looking the screen but heard that first lick and "Oh c'mon man"! Just a sweet sound and so effortless. I could spend a year working on learning from watching you play in these 15 minutes. I need to hear this pedal through my Studio Pro 35. A great match I would imagine. Thanks for keeping all of us novices inspired Mike! If there were any justice in this world some record exec would hand you a 30 million dollar check and say "let's do this"!

I think I've been using pedal for almost as long as it came out, I can't live without it. It just does so much to shape boost and refine your tone. Heck it's great on Acoustic electric also. In fact i'm getting ready to get a 2nd on for a backup. I've owned the others, but the RC booster is the hold grail for me.

Jon Herrignton of Steely Dan uses a couple of these pedals to individually adjust levels and eq while switching from a Tele to a 335... If you have ever used a couple of guitars that have different output and different EQ requirements, you will automatically understand... Billy Gibbons uses a midi pedal that also adjusts the volume of different style guitars, but the RC Booster seems like the easiest and most transparent way to go... Any thoughts on this?

these videos are great in terms of how much of the pedal it shows off, but i think they should contain some clips with out the whole 'band mix' thing going on. just the guitar, so none of the frequencies get drown out. then but it into a band mix context!

is it just me or do everyone of these videos with this guy, whom is a great player no doubt, start sounding the exact same regardless of pedal?
@texasmusicfan0310 жыл бұрын
I hear similar playing styles, as that's expected coming from the same player. But I do hear tonal differences, and I also can very well determine what the pedal can/can't do through only his videos. I've bought 3 pedals after I watched him demo and got exactly what I expected. This is how demo pedals should be. Hands down best demo videos on KZbin.

Bryan Workman As with every great guitar player, your style is most of your sound... EVH could play through any of these pedals, and he would sound like EVH... To me that means he has developed a style that is recognizable, which is a great thing. That is why pedals will NOT make you totally sound like your favorite Guitarist, only similar...

exactly right, Mike sets everything up so he sounds the same whatever he plays thru

I'll add his videos for the Keeley Monterey and the Dark Side, which he does in a live setting, were awesome! Brett Kingman and Andy from PGS do a great job as well. I've become more of a fan of Mike's videos as of late.

@@texasmusicfan03 ABSOLUTELY CORRECT ! LISTEN TO HIS DEMOS OF THE ONE CONTROL PEDALS, ALL SOUND THE SAME, UNTIL YOU BUY THE PEDAL. ON A MIXING CONSOLE YOU CAN DO MIRACLES.

Please can someone kindly answer this question for me?. I've been really getting into this transparent clean Boost kind of sound. I'm a proud owner of a Mesa Boogie MK IV and would this kind of pedal give me something I can't already get from what is obviously a quality and versatile amp or would I be wasting my money ??..thinking it would add something special to my clean channel and something I can't get from the crunch channel on low gain settings ?..Thank you in advance to anyone who can help with this.
@TimothyPage068 жыл бұрын
Sounds like exactly what this pedal provides. With the gain all the way down it's a straight up clean boost with no colour, but the EQ section on the pedal can do wonders for shaping your tone, and the gain knob is awesome for adding just a touch of fatness and sparkle to your tones, clean or dirty. I find it makes both channels of my amp sound better. Its one of those rare pedals that I never think could be a waste of money, just about everyone can find a use for it somewhere in their rig: Tone shapers, fattener, brightener, line/solo boost, buffer. Ive seen some guys use a few RC boosters live to change between guitars while keeping the output level similar, such a useful tool.

@martinkrauser40298 жыл бұрын
+Carlos Jr. Castillo Yes. It will boost almost any pedal before it, unless whatever you place after it will compress your signal or if your amp is already compressing (for example, on a drive channel).
